[Update] How to Install Cwm / Twrp Custom Recovery On Samsung Galaxy Core ( I8262 / I8260 )

Samsung a year ago launched Samsung Galaxy Core , That was pretty impressive Smartphone and Most of the people Purchased that Smartphone . Not only in India , It was Launched In - Indonesia , Philippines and more countries . In Some Countries , It was available in Dual sim ( I8262 ) only and In some Countries it is available in Single sim ( I8260 ) .

So the Previous Guide for Installing CWM / TWRP recovery for Samsung Galaxy Core is not working , Actually the new firmware of Samsung Galaxy Core has been working as a barrier for Installing Recovery via odin .

The Problem is When we Install Recovery via Odin , It did installs from Odin but actually the recovery is not Installed on Samsung Galaxy Core .

So Now i m posting a new method to Install Cwm / Twrp Custom Recovery On Samsung Galaxy Core ( I8262 / I8260 ) -

Note - Root Your Galaxy Core first then perform the below steps - Root Galaxy Core using This guide

Step 1. Download the recoveries from below ( Download Section ) , I recommend TWRP recovery .

Step 2. Download Rashr - Flash Tool App from Play store .

Step 3. Give it Root Permission from SuperUser .

Step 4. Select Recovery From Storage option and Choose the Recovery Image you downloaded from below .

Step 5. Now Select Install and The Recovery Will be Installed .

Step 6. To boot to the recovery Switch Off then Press Volume Up + Home + Power Button .

  1. Thanks Vaibhav, it works for me!

Just some tips for the fellow core users:

If the methode of rebooting into recovery with volume and power keys doesn't work, the 'rashr-flash tool' provides a method of rebooting into recovery too

If you are going to install a custom rom, make a nandroid backup first
!!!!!!!!!!!!!AFTER YOU MAKE THE BACKUP DON'T FORGET TO COPY IT TO YOUR COMPUTER OR MICRO SD CARD, CAUSE IF YOU WIPE THE DATA (which you should always do when installing a custom rom) YOUR BACKUP WILL BE LOST TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Thanks again Vaibhav!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Hi,
I followed the above steps and Rashr said partition flashed, do you wish to open Recovery Mode? I pressed yes and it opened into system recovery mode. I flashed TWRP, what went wrong?

    1. You did something wrong , do it again ! Are you rooted ?

    2. Yes, I am rooted. It did ask for root access. Also other apps are working fine which require root access. Seems no issue with root. I even tried CWM but same issue. Now, I cant even get into stock recovery using the hardware buttons; instead have to use 3rd party apps to reboot into recovery. (which again takes me to stock recovery)

  13. I have flashed my galaxy grand duos with CWM and had similar issues. Later realized there is another Fix-recovery.zip that also needs to be installed to give proper permissions. Now I have got a ClockWorkMod folder created in sdcard (galaxy core I8262) that means CWM was installed, then why doesn't it open in CWM recovery?
Is this issue similar to the galaxy grand?
