How many of you remember John McAfee? The Person who created first ever commercial antivirus software, McAfee? Maybe most of you. However, to achieve some success again, the company has launched a new Privacy-centered Smartphone, the John McAfee Privacy Phone. The Smartphone runs Android Operating System and is created through a partnership with cybersecurity firm MGT. The Company claims that their Smartphone is the “most hack-proof phone” ever created.
The device features physical switches that allow the user to physically disconnect the battery, antennas for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and geolocation, the camera, and the microphone, thus going completely offline. McAfee Privacy Phone costs $1,100 and will be available this year. We have seen hack-proof phones from Silent Circle, Sirin Labs, Blackberry and other companies, which apparently failed due to lack of public interest. Source: Newsweek
