Snap-sticker Style Mods for Moto Z and Moto Z Play Now Available in Brazil

Motorola's first generation Modular smartphones were a huge hit and are still going good in markets such as the Europe, UK, and the US. Motorola has opened the Moto Mods building concept to third-party developers, and various Kickstarter Moto Mods arrived last year with unique capabilities.

Today, Snap-sticker has launched its wide-range of Moto Style Mod for the Moto Z, and the Moto Z Play in Brazil. That said, if you're not satisfied with the official Motorola Style Mods, you can get these Snap-sticker ones starting at $68. 

The price may seem to be steep for an unofficial Style Mod, but these are worth checking out. The Snap-sticker Mods will change the entire look of your Moto Z/Moto Z Play. Furthermore, these Mods come with a wooden sticker for free to protect the camera lens. 

Having said that, you can customise these stickers with your photos including additional text on it. Right now, there are four coloured Snap-sticker Moto Mods available- Ivory, Ironwood, Zebra, and Muirapiranga. Out of the four, the ivory one looks slick.

Moto Mods Manager gets new update, adds support for the Moto Power Pack

The Moto Mods Manager application which lets you control and interact with your Moto Mods is now getting a new update which adds support for the upcoming Moto Power Pack.

Along with the support for the new Moto Mods, the update also contains Bug fixes and Stability improvements. The  update comes with 01.06.001 version and is available to download from Play store.

DigiFrame Mod adds a Secondary E-Ink Screen to your Moto Z

As you might be aware of the fact that Motorola will be releasing more and more Moto Mods in the near future. The company have already launched some new Moto Mods at the MWC 2017.



Recently, Motorola conducted several hackathon events in various countries, including India. And now, they showcased a new Moto Mod which will add a Secondary E-Ink Screen to your Moto Z series smartphone. 

This Mod is presented by Indiegogo, the crowd-funded Kickstarter project and will be called as 'DigiFrame' The basic functionality of this Mod is that it will add an always-on Secondary screen. The best part is: you can set up your own widget with information you need to be available, it costs ultra low power and provides high definition e-ink screen with information you need.



Here are specs of the DigiFrame Mod:

• 4.3", 800 x 480, 216 dpi, e-ink screen (physically limited by Moto Mod design constraints)

Lenovo-Moto Unveils New Moto Mods

Moto has just announced new Moto Mods for the Moto Z phones, We already know that these Modules will be compatible over next three years.

Amazon Alexa Mod:

Amazon Alexa Mod brings Alexa with you everywhere. You can easily perform everyday tasks while on the go, like controlling your smart home, checking the news, requesting a ride from services like Uber, and more — using just your voice. For example, when you start your commute home, you can ask Alexa to adjust your home’s temperature so it’s comfortable when you get there. Or, you can add milk to your shopping list without ever picking up a pen.

Along with the Alexa Moto Mod, Motorola also introduced "turbo charger", which charges your Moto Z quickly, "Moto Power Pack", which adds 50% more battery to your phone. A Gamepad Module which adds gaming controls to the ends of the phone to give you a full gaming experience.

Here is Another Moto Mod Which Instantly Prints Your Photos!

Modular phone was first introduced by LG back at the MWC 2016 with the LG G5. However, it was Lenovo who took the concept to a whole new level with their Moto Z range of phones. Motorola is betting big on the modular phones and so does others. 

And today, here's another Moto Mod, which instantly prints your photos just after capturing. Having said that, this module is being developed from a group of people from Dubai named Team One Technology, who takes part of the design. 

The team demonstrates that: 'At this point of time, it is easy to take photos in your phone and share it with your family members or friends, but there is no way that the photo will come out in real time'. So, for solving this issue, we are bringing in this mod. 

This Moto Mod is made up of compact hardware from digital printers and applications and can be easily attachable to the smartphone with the help of magnetic pins at the back. And, this Mod fits nicely and will feel compact in hands.

Moto Edge Mod Will Add an LED Strip to Your Moto Z Phones

As you might be aware of the fact that Motorola will be releasing more and more Moto Mods in the near future. The company might release at least half a dozen new Moto Mods at the upcoming MWC 2017. 

Recently, Motorola conducted several hackathon events in various countries, including India. And now, they showcased a new Moto Mod which will add a LED strip to your Moto Z series smartphone. 



This Mod is presented by Indiegogo, the crowd-funded Kickstarter project and will be called as 'Moto Edge.' The basic functionality of this Mod is that it will glow whenever a notification arrives onto your phone. The best part is: you can tweak the colors according to your choice with the help of a dedicated application installed on your phone.

According to latest report by Hellomotohk, Lenovo-Motorola is working on a Module which will make your Moto Z Waterproof and will let you use the device under water. 


Lenovo MBG Co-President & SVP Gina Qiao has posted an underwater image on weibo showing the Moto Z with Waterproof Moto Mod. 

According to the information we got, this Moto Mod will be called "Adventure Mod" and keep your Moto Z safe from dust and water.

This Upcoming Moto Mod Will Charge Your Moto Z Wirelessly by Not Connecting it to Phone

There is no fact denying that Motorola is betting big on the future of Moto Mods and the recently concluded Bangalore event is a proof for that. As of now, there are various Moto Mods to play music, capture images, project a picture, etc. 

But now, Mike Paukert, one of Motorola's 'Transform the Smartphone Challenge' developer is on a mission to do something unique. Yes, he is designing a mod that will charge the device wirelessly and doesn't add the bulky feel to the phone. This mod will be heavily useful for the users of Moto Z as it has a very smaller battery and thin body. 



The developer has already built a prototype of the mod which adds the Qi wireless charging tech to the device. That said, this mod will send the power to the device with the help of the USB cable and not the magnetic ports at the back, which is currently being used by other Moto Mods. 

Currently, the developer is working on getting funds from various sources to develop the product and he is expected to ship it by the end of this year or maybe by November 2017.

Mico, A Modular Battery Centric Moto Mod with Solar Cell to Launch of February 5

Alright, here’s the news. As you might be aware of the fact that Motorola is betting big on the future of modular phones and Moto Mods especially, here comes another news about an upcoming Moto Mod to be launched on February 5.

We, at TechDroider, are exclusively reporting this news as Modularis Systems is working on a battery-centric Moto Mod, which will be dubbed as Mico. And, the Mico will be working on a different technology and will make sure that you won’t need to worry about the battery life on your Moto Z phone.

The Moto Mico will feature a 2200mAh battery cell, which is 75 percent more than the actual battery capacity of Moto Z. And, the unique characteristics of this cell is that: it is a solar cell, which means that it can be charged by keeping it under direct sunlight.

Having said that, the most interesting aspect is that, each solar cell can be detached from the Moto Mod and you can additionally add them depending upon your usage. Speaking more about this detachable solar cells, they will be called as ‘Snap-Panels’ with 1000mAh cell for every snap panel. Also, these snap panels are USB Type-C port compatible, which means that you can use them to charge any USB Type-C supported the phone.

That said, you don’t need a Mico Mod to use the Snap Panel as you can connect it to any smartphone with USB Type-C support.

As reported earlier, Motorola is planning to produce at least 12 new Moto Mod add-ons starting from this year (i.e. 2017), and it seems that we already have our first look at first Moto Mod of the year 2017 i.e. the "Marstak Smart Flip cover".
