Official Android 8.1 with Treble is in the works for Xiaomi Mi A1
Back in July 2017, Xiaomi announced the Mi 5X for China and rebrandend it as Mi A1 (Android One) for the global markets, which was made official in September 2017 during a launch event in India.

In case you don't know, the Mi A1 is a part of Google’s Android One program which runs stock Android and will receive consistent software updates for a longer period than other smartphones by OEMs that are not a part of the Android One program.

Xiaomi and Google during the announcement of Mi A1 promised Android Oreo update by the end of December 2017 and they succeeded in doing that. However, the company still hasn't updated the Mi A1 to the latest OS which is the 8.1 Oreo.

Well, the good news is, Xiaomi is testing Official 8.1 Oreo for the Mi A1 and with Project Treble Support. When XDA member guy_infinity asked a recognized developer who works for Xiaomi in firmware development, he confirmed that Android 8.1 is in the works for Xiaomi Mi A1, and he also said that "Yes, treble is to be supported". The news was further confirmed by Mishaal Rahman ‏(Editor in Chief at XDA).

It seems that the Android 8.1 Oreo will be available for the Mi A1 in the coming months. Subscribe us on YouTube for Daily Android News, and Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter page to get the first News.

How to solve error 10008 in Developer Settings while Unlocking Redmi Note 5 Pro Bootloader

How to solve error 10008 in Developer Settings [Mi Unlock Status] while Adding an account to Unlock the Bootloader of Redmi Note 5 Pro and other Xiaomi Smartphones.

I've been using both the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro for a couple of weeks now and have found that both the devices shows an error while Adding an account in Developers Settings (Mi Unlock Status).

When you'll try to Add an account in the Developer Setting in order to Unlock your Mi/Redmi Smartphone you'll get a message "10008: 参数错误、 请参考API文档". Well, there's an fix to this issue.

All you need to do is download the Chinese VPN application named "快帆 海外华人听国内音乐看视频玩游戏的中国VPN工具" from the end of this guide. I've already tested tons of other VPN apps, and only the one i mentioned works.

Just Install the above Chinese VPN, you'll see two options below the round power button, just select the former and turn on the first option (as shown in the below image) to make the whole traffic of your applications go through VPN.
Finally, you're good to Add your account to the Mi Unlock Status Developer Settings. Enjoy Unlocking Bootloader.

Xiaomi's Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro both supports QuickCharge 2.0
Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi Note 5 (A.K.A Redmi 5 Plus) and Redmi Note 5 Pro with 18:9 Full Screen Display and Snapdragon 625 (Note 5), Snapdragon 636 (Note 5 Pro).

Both of these smartphones support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge?
Yes, both of them supports QuickCharge 2.0 through Micro USB.

A lot of Xiaomi’s smartphones don’t support Qualcomm’s Quick Charge, even though they have the necessary hardware. The reason is because the manufacturer doesn’t usually pay the license fee required to use the technology, which has been the case with the Mi A1 and Redmi Note 4.

Both the Redmi Note 5's and Redmi Note 5 Pro's Processor are also capable of using Quick Charge 3.0, but considering the price and specifications, Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 is used. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter page to get the first News.
