LG Nexus 5 gets Android 8.0 Oreo via Custom ROM
Now that Google has released the next version of Android, Android 8.0 Oreo, the wait for the devices to get the update first has already started. Google has already updated the eligible Pixel and Nexus devices to the latest Android OS.

We all know that the Nexus 5 won't be getting Android Oreo Update Officially. But you can now Install the latest Android 8.0 Oreo Unofficially via Custom ROM. Developer "amaces" has successfully ported Android 8.0 Oreo Unlegacy Android Project (AOSP) for the Nexus 5. Additionally, most major aspects of the phone are working as expected (such as RIL, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.).

With Android 8.0 Oreo, you'll get new Settings and Notification panel UI, latest features including Picture in Picture (PIP), Adaptive icons, Autofill, Notification timeout, and new emojis.

You'll need to Unlock Bootloader and Install TWRP Custom Recovery in-order to Install the Lineage OS 15 Android 8.0 Oreo Rom on Nexus 5 Hammerhead. You can grab the Custom Rom ZIP file from below.

LG Nexus 5 will get Android N or Not ? Find out Here !

Seems this time Google might ditch Nexus 5 Android N update .

Nexus 5 was announced back on October 2013 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and still it is update-able to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Os .

Last year , Google confirmed that they won’t be updating the Nexus 4 to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Google explained that this is due to the age of the device, which has passed its support tenure.

So This time also Google might not update Nexus 5 to Android N due to age of the device .

Though Google might have not provided Android N developer preview images for Nexus 5 , but we can still hope for Official firmware images of Android N for Nexus 5 ( which will be released on May 18 ) .

Android N to come with Light and Dark theme Option

Android N to come with Light and Dark theme Option

Google is going to announce Android N ( Probably Android 7.0 ) this year on 18 May !

Android N will come with many new features and bug fixes over Android 6.0 Marshmallow .

Android N or Android 7.0 will be coming up with Night mode option ( Light and Dark theme ) , The above screenshots are from Nexus 5 Running Android N .

Back in 2015 Google released developer preview of Android M ( Known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow now ) , Android M Developer preview came with Night Mode feature . But Google removed that feature from Official Android 6.0 Marshmallow .

But the feature will be back with Android N . Along with Dark theme , we can expect Multi-Window , No App drawer and other interesting features . Though Android N will look almost same as Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Lollipop in Interface ,

Nexus Devices going to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow soon !

Google is all ready to roll Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to Nexus Devices . Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow includes many bug fixes , security updates and few new features over Android 6.0 Marshmallow .
