OnePlus 6: Avengers Edition!!!

OnePlus 6: Avengers Edition!!!
It seems that OnePlus is gearing up to launch the Limited OnePlus 6 Avengers Edition to commemorate the the release of the Avengers: Infinity War. According to OnePlus India's Facebook Video, the company is teaming up with Marvel Studios for the Avengers-themed OnePlus 6.

Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theaters on April 27 and most likely we'll see the OnePlus 6 make its debut at around the same time.

OnePlus 6 would feature 19:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU, Adreno 630 GPU, 6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of internal memory, and Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS.

There's no information whether the device will be limited to the Indian markets, or whether we'll see a global launch. Thoughts?

OnePlus: Let's talk about OnePlus 6 Screen!!!

OnePlus on their Official OnePlus forum explained "Why the OnePlus 6 would feature a notch" and they also answered some of the most frequently asked questions about the OnePlus 6 top notch.
By now, most of you are aware that our next device will feature a cut-out near the top of the display, popularly known as a “notch”. A fiery debate has sparked online, so we wanted to give you guys some insight into our rationale behind this product decision.
According to OnePlus, notch is company’s way of providing more screen real estate to buyers. Through the notch, the company can free up a considerable amount of space near the top of the display, absorbing the notification and status icons.

OnePlus 6's notch measures 19.616mm by 7.687mm and it occupies a minimal amount of space in the top-center part of the display.

At last OnePlus said that their focus is to deliver the biggest and best screen, without compromising on the technology you love. Here are the FAQs that OnePlus answered:

Will the notch cut off my notifications if the status bar reaches a certain width?
OxygenOS will be optimized to work alongside the notch, ensuring you will always be able to view and access all of your notifications.

The notch cuts into the display, so the actual display size is smaller!
You actually get more screen. Thanks to the notch, we have managed to significantly increase our screen-to-body ratio. It’s like booking an airplane seat with extra leg room, which is used to absorb the clock and status bar.

If you’re integrating the front-facing camera, receiver, and LED light in the notch, why do you still need a chin?
A ribbon found at the bottom of each display connects the display to the internal hardware. This connection in itself demands the use of a bottom bezel. Our goal is to maximize the amount of real estate available to the user. So, we decided to reduce the size of the top bezel. The result is the largest viewable area we have ever produced.

The notch ruins my ability to enjoy movies and games. Can’t you block out the notch through software?
We understand the need to tailor your experience to your personal preferences. That’s why we have a compatibility mode on our next device. By setting this mode to individual apps, you are able to black out the sides of the notch when in landscape mode. We have tested compatibility mode with the 1000 most popular apps in the Play Store, and it works wonderfully.

Oh Dear! This is the OnePlus 6 Top Notch!

Oh Dear! This is the OnePlus 6 Top Notch!
In 2017, OnePlus skipping the 4 announced OnePlus 5T and OnePlus 5. Both the Smartphones received praise from critics and consumers alike for its build quality, software, and camera performance.

This year's OnePlus 6 will be one of the most anticipated phone of 2018, which is rumored to release in July. OnePlus today exclusively reached out The Verge to let the whole world know that the OnePlus 6 would feature a top notch and yeah we all have to deal with it.

OnePlus also provided the precise measurements for its upcoming notch 19.616mm x 7.687mm. The Company said that their notch will be bigger than the Essential Phone, smaller than the iPhone X.
We saw the implementation [of gestures] on the iPhone. Maybe it would have taken longer if Apple hadn’t done it. Maybe not as fast. But we have access to the roadmaps of all the screen manufacturers, and when they gave us the opportunity to make cutouts at the top of the screen, it just made sense.
At last Pei says that this is company’s way of providing more screen real estate to buyers. So, learn to love the notch.

Yesterday, Evan Blass shared our first rear look at the OnePlus 6 and it looks gorgeous. The device is expected feature 19:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 CPU, Adreno 630 GPU, 6/8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of internal memory, and Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS.

OnePlus 6 Concept Gives a Glimpse of the Future

After seeing last month's OnePlus 6 leak that potentially revealed the design of OnePlus's new flagship for 2018, the concept makers have been busy getting their takes ready. Youtuber Concept Creator and TechnoBuffalo has come up with an exciting new concept of the OnePlus 6.

The phone’s fingerprint scanner is placed on the back, more like the Samsung Galaxy S9. It has a dual camera setup at the rear. If you take a closer look at the phone’s front, you’ll also notice that it has tiny notch, which stores the front-facing camera and some sensors.

The phone they detail features a 19:9 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080) AMOLED display, 6/8GB of RAM, a 16+20MP shooter, Snapdragon 845, and other miscellaneous top tier specs.

Recently the OnePlus 5T ran out of stock in the Notch American market. The fans of the Chinese smartphone maker who have not bought the OnePlus 5T will have to wait until the launch of OnePlus 6 to get their hands on a OnePlus device.

Customer credit card data may have been pilfered from OnePlus.net

Customer credit card data may have been pilfered from OnePlus.net
OnePlus users are reporting that OnePlus.net was likely compromised by intruders between October 2017 and December 2017. It’s not clear how many people are affected, but many OnePlus forum members have suspected fraudulent activity after a purchase from OnePlus website.

I purchased two phones with two different credit cards, first on 11-26-17 and second on 11-28-17. Yesterday I was notified on one of the credit cards of suspected fraudulent activity, I logged onto credit card site and verified that there were several transactions that I did not make. I went through the process and switched accounts... no big deal. Today same thing with the other credit card. I do not use either of those credit cards frequently. The only place that both of those credit cards had been used in the last 6 months was on the Oneplus website. I am not too worried about it, I have fraud protection on all of my cards.

I am not accusing OnePlus, and I do love my phone... just the only similarity I could find between the 2 cards. I just want to make everyone aware so that they can check there statements for any unauthorized transactions, incase OnePlus was breached.

Has anyone else experienced fraudulent charges after a recent purchase? - superdutynick OnePlus user
Same thing happened to me. Placed two orders with OnePlus on the 9th and 10th January 2018. I've used two different business credit cards, that I have not used for any other transaction in over a year.

This morning (11th January 2018) I received a call from my bank, asking me about a fraudulent charge of 50 £ on one of the cards. It will be interesting to see if the second card will also be charged with possible fraud attempts.

Once I receive more information from my bank, I will share it here. I'd also like to emphasize, that I am very satisfied with my OnePlus phones and am a strong advocate of your product. Should there be a security issue, every report helps the team at OnePlus to find the culprit. - inflamez OnePlus user

Hi

I literally purchased the Sandstone Oneplus 5t on Tuesday on a credit card that I NEVER take out of the house (ie: I use it for my monthly Netflix subs and nothing else normally). I decided to use if for my purchase as credit was available.

I have just had a call from the credit card fraud team to advise someone has attempted to use my card at Currys (Dixons Group Electrical) in London for £900.

That is ONE HELL of a coincidence, especially as the only time I have used the card with a retailer in the last year was with Oneplus a few days back.

This is no Witchhunt. But I am highly suspicious. - Veran OnePlus user

Anyone who bought items from OnePlus.net during the suspected period of the breach should watch their credit card statements closely. If you find any fraudulent charges on your statement report them to your credit card provider immediately. Companies usually don’t hold credit card holders responsible for unauthorized charges—especially if you report them as soon as possible.
