Redmi Note 5 is a Redmi Note 5 Pro with Android 8.1 Oreo for China

Today, Xiaomi announced the Redmi Note 5 (AKA Redmi Note 5 Pro) in China with Android 8.1.0 Oreo with MIUI 9 on the top, Quick Charger 3.0, and FullScreen Display.

The Redmi Note 5 has 18:9 FullScreen Display, Dual 12+5 Rear Cameras, 13MP Front Shooter, and Snapdragon 636 SoC. It is available in 3/4/6GB RAM and 32/64 GB Internal Storage.

Redmi Note 5 in China runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo with Project Treble Support. However, In India, the Redmi Note 5 Pro ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Xiaomi's MIUI 9.

You might be thinking how you'll be able to get or Install Android 8.1 Oreo on your Indian Redmi Note 5 Pro? Well, Xiaomi on their MIUI forum will post fastboot images of the Android 8.1 Oreo for the Redmi Note 5, and you can easily install same on your Redmi Note 5 Pro. Moto G4 Plus spotted running Android 8.0 Oreo

Motorola has already updated the Moto X4, and the Moto Z2 Force to Official Android 8.0 Oreo.  Now, it seems that Motorola is internally testing Android 8.0 Oreo for the Moto G4 Plus. The confirmation came from a screenshot of Moto G4 Plus running Android 8.0.0 Oreo with January 2018 Security patch.

The Screenshot clearly shows Moto G4 Plus with codename Athene and channel Retla running internal Android Oreo with January 1, 2018 Security Patch.

Moto X4 Android One Edition Receiving Official Android 8.1 Oreo Update
The Moto X4 Android One is now getting Official Android 8.1 Oreo Software Update. Android 8.1 Oreo comes with numerous enhancements over Android 8.0 Oreo, such as new dark and light themes which changes according to wallpaper, Pixel 2 Launcher, Redesigned Power Menu, new Shutdown and Reboot Animation, Round Statusbar Icons, and Settings. Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Moto X4 also brings the latest March 1st 2018 Security Patch.

The Android 8.1 Oreo update for Android One Moto X4 comes with build no. OPW28.46-3. Motorola’s instructions explain that for a successful installation, the battery in your phone should be at least 50% charged and your device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network or LTE.

If you haven't got the notification of this new software update yet, Just go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and It will automatically start downloading the latest update. The update will take around 10-15 minutes to get Installed on your device.

One of the biggest concerns associated with Smartphones are the harmful effects of radiation on our health. The studies follow, not always with similar conclusions and always without being able to have an affirmative answer.

Just yesterday, we learned which current-day smartphones emits the highest radiation and apart from all the smartphones, on the top of the was the well known Xiaomi's Mi A1 (Android One).

Today, we've a new infographic straight from Statista showing which current-day smartphones emits the least radiation. The list has been published by German Federal Office for Radiation Protection (Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz) which maintains a comprehensive database of smartphones and the level of radiation they emit.
The smartphone creating the lowest level of radiation is the Sony Xperia M5 - with a specific absorption rate of 0.14 watts per kilogram. Samsung handsets also feature prominently, with half of the top ten coming from the South Korean company.

Announced back in May 2017, Essential PH-1 is now getting the Official Android 8.1 Oreo through OTA (Over the Air) Software Update.

Android 8.1 comes with new dark and light themes which changes according to wallpaper, Pixel 2 Launcher, Redesigned Power Menu, new Shutdown and Reboot Animation, Round Statusbar Icons, and Settings.

The Essential smartphone features a 5.7-inch QHD edge-to-edge display, not the one seen on Galaxy S8. It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. The phone comes with ceramic back and includes USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat. (Now upgradable to Android 8.1 Oreo)

The attraction for the phone is at the back where the magnetic connectors lie. With the help of these magnetic pins, you can connect additional devices. For now, there's a 360-degree camera that has two 12MP lenses. At the back, there are two cameras of 13MP along with an 8MP front-facing camera. The so-called modular 360-degree camera costs $199.
