Moto G4 Play Updated With June Security Patch
The Moto G4 Play 2016 is now getting the latest Android security patch, bug fixes, and improvements.

If you own a Moto G4 Play RETBR you should have received the over-the-air update notification for June 1, 2018 Android security update. New software update for both these phones brings along Bug fixes and Stability improvements.

Note that the Moto G4 Play runs 7.1.1 Nougat. This device won't get further major Android updates from Motorola.


Motorola’s instructions explain that for a successful installation, the battery in your phone should be at least 50% charged and your device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network or LTE.

If you haven't got the notification of this new software update yet, Just go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and It will automatically start downloading the latest update. The update will take around 10-15 minutes to get Installed on your device. We will let you know once the update is live for other countries. Back in July 2017, Xiaomi announced the Mi 5X for China and rebrandend it as Mi A1 (Android One) for the global markets, which was made official in September 2017 during an event in India.

In case you don't know, the Mi A1 is a part of Google’s Android One program which runs stock Android and will receive consistent software updates for a longer period than other smartphones by OEMs that are not a part of the Android One program.

Today, what appears to be the live Mi A2 has been leaked. As you can see in the below image, we have 18:9 Screen without any notch.

The Mi A2 runs on latest Android 8.1 Oreo, and has May 5 2018 Security Patch. Just like the Mi 6X, it is expectd to feature Snapdragon 660 Processor, 4/6GB RAM, 32/64GB Storage, 5.99-inch 1080x2160 Display, Dual 12 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.9", 1.25µm) + 20 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.8", 1.0µm) Rear Cameras, and a 20 MP front shooter. Just a few days back, Google released 4th Developer Preview of Android 9.0 P (Beta 3) for Google Pixel and Pixel 2 Smartphones. According to Google's release schedule, this is the candidate build which includes the final APIs and near-final system images for development and testing.

Now, XDA Developer Erfanoabdi has ported the DP4 Android P to the Motorola Moto Z. He says that "Almost Everything" works in this Firmware including Boots, RIL (Calls, SMS, Data), Fingerprint, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Camera, Camcorder, Video Playback, Audio, Sensors, Flash, LED, and GPS, the only bugs includes VoLTE and Flashlight.


You'll need an Unlocked Bootloader with TWRP recovery installed on your Motorola Moto Z. Rest of the process includes Downloading and Flashing Google Apps and Android P DP4.

The Motorola Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5s Plus are now getting the latest Android security patch, bug fixes, and improvements.

If you own a Moto G5 Plus or Moto G5s Plus RETIN you should have received the over-the-air update notification for June 1, 2018 Android security update. New software update for both these phones brings along Bug fixes and Stability improvements.

Note that both the Moto G5 Plus or Moto G5s Plus runs Android 7.0/7.1.1 Nougat. While this update would have been more exciting if it had brought Oreo 8.1, which is in the beta for both these devices.

Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 Grabs New Update With July Security Patch

If you own a Nokia 6 or Nokia 5 in India you should have received the over-the-air update notification for July 1st, 2018 Android security update. That’s all that is detailed in the new software for both of these phones.

The Software for the Nokia 6 (TA-1021) weighs in at around 140.9MB, while the Nokia 5 (TA-1053) gets it for 145.1MB.
