CyanogenMod 12.1 Rom for Moto E 2nd Gen 3G XT1506 ( otus ) [ Android 5.1 Lollipop ]
Moto E 2nd Generation also known as Moto E 2015 is an upgrade version of Moto E 1st Generation . Moto E 2nd Generation comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box .
Moto E 2nd Generation is both available in 3G ( otus ) and 4G ( surnia ) . Moto E 2nd Generation has a great developer support and now many roms are available for it .
Thanks to squid2 ( Xda developer ) for making Cm12.1 for Moto E 2nd Generation 3G variant XT1506 . There are only few bugs in the rom which includes - Camera force stop ( some times ) , Video issue .

How to Install CyanogenMod 12.1 Rom on Moto E 2nd Gen ( otus 3G) -
Step 1. Download Cm12.1 and Cm12.1 gaaps for Moto E 2nd Gen 3G from below .
You must be Rooted and have TWRP recovery install , in order to proceed to Step 2 , To Root and Install Recovery - Follow This Guide on How to Root and Install Recovery on Moto E 2nd Gen .
Step 2. Boot to recovery mode ( TWRP ) .
Step 3. Wipe data , Cache , dalvik cache and System .
Step 4. Install Cm12.1 zip and then Install gaaps after that .
Step 5. Reboot and wait for 5 - 10 mins for your Moto E 2nd Gen to boot .
Note - After installing the rom If you are facing Gaaps issue - Follow this

ReplyDeleteUsers east of GMT (such as Indian users) will need to change their time zone to something west of GMT to prevent various issues after the second reboot (recent key breaking, gapps crashes etc)
