Motorola Moto G has always been the smartphone that offered strong performance, decent specs, timely upgrades, all at a reasonable price.
The company recently launched Moto G4 series , though they really messed up doing a three-way split by launching Moto G4 , Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 Play .
The Moto G4 Plus and Moto G4 are almost same , but the Plus has a better camera, adds a fingerprint scanner, includes a TurboPower charger and comes with 2GB as well as 3GB variant .
So , Lets take a closer look !
The round-edged smartphone with a square-shaped fingerprint looks amazing and feels much better in hands . It comes in Black and White color , Though you can make your own via Moto Maker .
The Square shaped fingerprint sensor is not a button , but it looks and feels like a button .
The Smartphone has 5.5-inch FHD display, 153 x 76.6mm dimensions and is 9.8mm slimmer . The Device is really very light ( Yeah even lighter than previous generation Moto G devices ) .
The device has a nano coating which protects it from water splashes .
The device comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset, with four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and the other four at 1.2GHz, paired with a 550MHz Adreno 405 GPU.
The specifications are not that nice but they are competitive at this price . The Performance is fast and smooth , Stock Android Marshmallow adds more sweetness to its performance .
The device has a 3,000mAh battery which usually lasts more than a day even with a heavy use . It becomes very easy to charge the device quickly using the Turbo charger . It take actually takes 15 minutes to get six hours of power .
Moto G4 Plus comes with a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, Laser auto-focus and dual-tone LED flash . It has a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter with f/2.2 aperture.
The 16MP camera is just wonderful , but the 5MP is not that good !

Verdict
For a 200$ smartphone Motorola Moto G4 Plus have one of the best Camera as compared to other flagships . Moto G4 Plus shots are pretty good and sharp. Colors are vibrant and images are not over saturated .
Moto has also introduced new Camera application which lets you shoot the Images instantly . It also has quick toggles for HDR, flash, timer and switch between front and rear cameras.
The front facing camera is average , Its not that bad !

According to me , Launching Motorola Moto G4 is a big mistake done by Motorola and Lenovo . Either Motorola should have named Moto G4 Plus , The Moto G4 or They should have made 5 inch Smartphone called The Moto G4 ( with same specs as original Moto G4 ) .
Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus comes with same specification , Only the difference is Moto G4 Plus has a Fingerprint sensor and a 16MP Auto Laser Focus Camera . The difference between the two devices is only 1,000/- INR / 14.7$ .
Of course , one would buy Motorola Moto G4 Plus by spending 1,000/- extra . From Moto G 1st Generation to Moto G 3rd Generation , Motorola was pricing the Smartphone wisely . But This time it makes no sense of launching Moto G4 at a price of Moto G3 Turbo .

Motorola Releases Open Source Kernel For The Moto G Plus

Motorola Moto G4 Plus ( AKA Moto G Plus ) runs latest public release of Android (6.0.1) at launch and Now the open source kernel for the Moto G Plus is available, just like its predecessors.

Just Like Moto G 3rd Generation , Moto G4 Plus also comes with a hidden LED light . Although We already have Moto Display , which is an alternate to Led light .

Steps : How to enable LED in Moto G4 Plus -

Guy Buys a Moto G4 Plus with 3GB of RAM and Got Only 2GB Out of the box

Recently Motorola revealed Moto G4 Plus in India , The Smartphone came in two variants 2GB RAM / 16GB Storage and 3GB RAM / 32GB Storage .
As reported by Android Central , an unlucky user bought a Moto G4 Plus ( 3GB RAM model ) and got only 2GB RAM while the Smartphone Storage came out to be 32GB .
This seems to be a manufacturing defect , instead of putting 3GB RAM in 32GB Storage device , someone just placed 2GB RAM .
You can check your Smartphone's hardware details by using Android App called AIDA64 .

Moto G4 Plus has a hidden LED !

Recently Launched Motorola Smartphone i.e Moto G4 Plus has an hidden LED light , Just like Moto G 3rd Generation .
We still don't know why Motorola hides the led light and there is no option to enable it on the Stock Firmware . Though Motorola provides a feature called Moto Display which works fantastic .
The LED Light is embedded near the Right side of Fingerprint sensor . The LED only pops up when the Smartphone is charged .

You read that right! In a recent promotional image for the new Motorola Moto G4 phones Motorola states it will get updated to Android N and O!
Two days ago Google introduced Android N at Google I/O with some tweaks and new features, but now Motorola just leaked the name of the next Android version: N. Will Google stop releasing system versions named after desserts? We can't know that for sure yet. What will O improve over N? It's too far away to know.
One thing is clear, though, the new Moto G4 will get the next two versions of Android, and that's something really cool. When will it get N or O? That's a very good question that we are not able to answer right now, but let's hope it gets N as fast as possible.

1. Overpriced -
The Motorola Moto G4 Plus comes in two variants - 16GB / 2GB at 13,499/- and 32GB / 3GB at 14,999/- . The Smartphone is a bit overpriced as compared to ZUK Z1 which comes in 13,499/- and Redmi Note 3 which comes in 9,999 ( 16GB/2GB ) and 11,999 ( 32GB/3GB ) .
2. No water resistance -
The Motorola Moto G4 Plus has an advanced nano-coating technology that creates a water repellent barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes or light rain. 3. Too big -
5.2 is the most preferred size of a Smartphone . The Moto G4 Plus comes with a 5.5 inch FHD Display , that seems to be too big . Big Smartphone's have a great chances to slip from hand and even get shattered after a drop .
After-all many People prefer to use 5 inch and 5.2 inch Smartphones .
4. No Notification LED -
There is no way to find out if you’ve missed any incoming calls or message while you had to ignore your phone? Of course, you can enable Moto Display and get pop-up on your screen when you get any notification . But Still Notification LED Plays an important role in bringing your attention towards the Smartphone , if you gets any notification .
5. Heating issue -
According to a Gaming Review with Temp Check of Moto G4 Plus by Geekyranjit , The Temperature of the device goes to 45° in 15 minutes of Gaming .
Though Geekyranjit hadn't noticed any lags while playing Games , but the screen becomes too hot under 15 minutes of Gaming .

How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto G4 Plus ( 2016 )

Like other Motorola Smartphones you can Unlock Moto G 4th Gen Plus Bootloader ( AKA Moto G4 Plus + ) also . Unlocking Bootloader voids warrenty , but still people Unlock Bootloader for Development Purposes .
Note -
We are not responsible for any damage caused to your Smartphone .
Keep a backup of your data before following the steps , as Unlocking will wipe all your data .
By following this below guide , you can easily unlock your bootloader of Moto G 4th Generation Plus .
How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto G4 Plus ( 2016 ) -
Step 1. Download Minimal ADB and fastboot from below .
Step 2. Download and Install Latest Motorola Drivers from below .
Step 3. Go to Moto G4 Plus Settings > Developer Settings and Select Allow OEM Unlock .
Step 4. Switch off your Motorola Moto G4 Plus and Boot to Fastboot mode by pressing Power + Volume down button at the same time .
Step 5. Now Open Minimal ADB and fastboot ( which you downloaded in step 2 ) on PC and open cmd from there .
Step 6. Connect your Motorola Moto G4 Plus to PC via USB cable .
Step 7. Type This on Cmd fastboot oem get_unlock_data .
You will get a String , just copy it and Paste it in a Notepad and remove empty spaces from it .
Step 8. Go to Motorola's website and Log in using your Google / Motorola Id and paste the Copied String on 6th Step .
Step 9. Now complete all the Steps at Motorola's Website and Request unlock key .
Step 10. You will get an Unlock key at your mail id , just copy it .
Step 11. In Cmd ( which you opened following step 5 ) type -
fastboot devices
It will check , your device is connected or not , after that type -
fastboot oem unlock "Key"
Replace "Key" with the Unlock Key , you got on Step 10 .
