Moto G5s Plus Camera updated with Depth Adjustment Bar

Moto G5s Plus Camera updated with In-Camera Depth Adjustment Bar
A little few days ago, we reported that the Moto G5s Plus bought from Amazon India doesn't comes with Live depth Adjustment Bar.

However, Motorola is pushing a new update for the same, that apparently adds the Depth Adjustment Bar. Motorola also suggests users update the Camera application as soon as they receive the upgrade.

The update only adds Live Depth Adjustment Bar, and it doesn't bring any new features whatsoever. Previously, this feature was only available for Review units, which annoyed several users.

The update is already rolling out to the users of Moto G5s Plus from September 7. If you did not receive the update try checking for it manually by heading over to My Apps section in the Play Store.

Update: Motorola updates Moto G5s Plus Camera with Depth Adjustment Bar

While most of the customers have the Moto G5s Plus in their hands, we have learned that the Moto G5s Plus bought from Amazon India doesn't comes with "Live depth enabler".

Unfortunately, it is almost certain that most of the Unboxing/ Camera Reviews of the Moto G5s Plus that contains it's Camera UI Video is misleading customers, as Motorola provided reviewers a device that comes with "Live depth enabler". This move, mislead not just customers, but taint the work of reviewers and journalists with misleading data that most are not able to verify.

Here are some of the Screenshots of the Moto G5s Plus Unboxing Videos from reputed YouTubers like iGyaan and Geekyranjit. The below Images clearly shows the "Live Depth adjustment bar" Option.

Few of the users have also reported "Missing Camera depth adjustment bar" issue at Lenovo Forums.

Hi, I purchased Moto G5s plus on the release date 30th August in India. I am unable to figure out why my phone is not having the depth adjustment bar when the camera is in depth enabled mode as shown in all promotional and review videos. Thanks in advance.
Note: I tried updating the camera app and camera tuner app. Still it is not working. - SurDev_G5S
WHAT??? Are they kidding?
They have showed the adjustment bar in all their promos and even saw this feature in Indian Unit while watching some youtube videos. Can't believe that there is no adjustment bar for depth enabled mode. This is clear case of misguidance.
What shall we do now? Smiley Sad - Saurabhprk

We are disappointed with Motorola, and hope that they will update their Camera Application with Live Depth Adjustment Bar feature. It is misrepresenting their phone to their customers, and is not the type of behavior that we like to see with devices as otherwise awesome as the Moto G5s Plus.

Moto G5S Plus Specifications, Renders leaked ahead of launch

Moto G5S Plus Specifications, press shot leaked ahead of launch
A leaked product roadmap of Motorola some weeks ago revealed that Motorola is working on two relatively new smartphones- Moto G5s and Moto G5s Plus. At first, it seemed like a fake news because Motorola recently announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus and why did it want to launch successors in such a short time.

But this is Motorola under Lenovo, not Google. The first Marketing renders of the Moto G5S Plus are out, and the device looks similar to the original Moto G5 from the front. From the rear though, the device resembles the Motorola Moto M which was released last year.

The Moto dimple is coming back and is placed below the rear 12MP dual-camera module. The smartphone will be entirely made of metal, unlike the plastic edges are seen on the Moto G5. It will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage. The front-facing selfie shooter will feature 8 megapixels sensor.

The Moto G5s will boast a 5.2-inch Full HD display, while the Moto G5s Plus will have a 5.5-inch display with dual cameras at the back. Motorola plans to launch both the devices along with the Moto Z2 Force at July 25th event.
