March Android security patch coming to the Nexus 6P on March 7


The Google Nexus 6P will start receiving the latest Android security patch next week.

As listed on Vodafone's website, March security patch for the Nexus 6P will begin rolling out from March 7. There's no information regarding the release date of this month's security patch for the Nexus 5X, However, it is likely to get the new update along with the Nexus 6P.



The update will carry a build no of N4F26T, and will come with "5 March 2017" Security patch level. It will be available via FOTA and will cost approximately 39MB.

Last week, Google announced Android 7.1.2 Nougat Beta for the Pixel and Nexus devices. So, those who are running Android 7.1.2 Beta will not be able to receive March security patch update via OTA.

Recently OnePlus released Hydrogen OS beta based on Android 7.1.1 for the OnePlus 3 & 3T for Chinese customers with Chinese and English language support, the rom has no Google apps included.

Now, the company has announced OxygenOS (beta 12 for the OnePlus 3 and beta 3 for the OnePlus 3T) based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with March 2017 security patches.




Here are some key features of OxygenOS Open Betabased on Android 7.1.1 Nougat-


  • Upgraded to Android 7.1.1
  • New Shot on OnePlus wallpaper option
  • Gallery Improvements
    • New photo editor with watermark and photo straightening options
    • Newly added media will be highlighted in Photos section
    • Image location will be displayed on grid view
    • Media can be grouped by month and year
    • Folders and individual media can be hidden
  • General bug fixes
Known Issues and Fixes
  • Android pay not able to work on London TFL/Tube
    • This can be resolved by updating the app via Play store
  • Compatibility issues with certain third party apps

Samsung Galaxy S8 leaked in full glory!

The internet is filled with Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus leaks, of late. Yes, the upcoming flagship phone from Samsung has been making rounds in the internet for a long time and today, we have some real life images of the phone, giving us first clear look at the device.



The leak is coming from bgr, As you can see in the image below, the Samsung Galaxy S8 won't feature capacitive navigation keys, instead, Samsung is going with the on-screen navigation keys as expected.


 


  


The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to launch on March 29, 2017.
Samsung will be using the metal and glass body with the S8. The Galaxy S8 will sport a big 5.8-inch screen, whereas the S8 Plus will feature a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ display. 


At the heart of the phone, there will be a Snapdragon 835 SoC and the company will release another variant of the phone with their Exynos 8895 chipset, coupled with 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM options. Storage on the phones might go up to 256GB, according to previous rumors.

Motorola has already ditched the Moto G 3rd generation and Moto G3 Turbo Edition from the list of devices getting Official Android 7.0 Nougat. However, The Moto G3 Turbo Edition is now getting new software updates with latest Security Patch, bug fixes and Stability improvement.

The update costs 12MB and features January 2017 Security patch, bug fixes and Stability improvement.

It's great to see that Motorola still cares about its devices. Motorola won't be updating the 2015 Moto Gs to Android Nougat, but it will see security patches and stability updates.

DigiFrame Mod adds a Secondary E-Ink Screen to your Moto Z

As you might be aware of the fact that Motorola will be releasing more and more Moto Mods in the near future. The company have already launched some new Moto Mods at the MWC 2017.



Recently, Motorola conducted several hackathon events in various countries, including India. And now, they showcased a new Moto Mod which will add a Secondary E-Ink Screen to your Moto Z series smartphone. 





This Mod is presented by Indiegogo, the crowd-funded Kickstarter project and will be called as 'DigiFrame' The basic functionality of this Mod is that it will add an always-on Secondary screen. The best part is: you can set up your own widget with information you need to be available, it costs ultra low power and provides high definition e-ink screen with information you need.
