Stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat ported to the Moto G3 Turbo Edition

Last year, Motorola announced that the Moto G3 Turbo Edition and Standard Moto G3 are not going to get an official Android Nougat update. However, today we reported that the Stock Android 7.1.1 Nougat has been ported to the Standard Moto G3, and now for the Moto G TE.

The Moto G Turbo Edition is given a lifeline through community development by "Innfinite4evr", an XDA Senior Member, with a port from the Moto G4 Play and Moto X Play that recently got an update to official Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat for Moto devices brings Brand new Moto System icons, New Camera UI, New bootanimation, and other usual Android 7.1.1 Nougat goodies.

Apart from the Video recording and Moto Actions bug, the port is stable and fully functional. If you want to get a taste of Official (Sort of) Android 7.1.1 Nougat on the Moto G3 Turbo Edition, then go ahead to XDA. Note that it needs an Unlocked bootloader and a Custom recovery.

Motorola is now pushing a new software update for the Moto G4 Plus in India with Build no. NPJS25.93-14-8 and it comes with the latest security patch. It weighs in at around 55MB.

The update only contains June 2017 security patch, and it doesn't bring any new features whatsoever. While this update would have been more exciting if it had brought Nougat 7.1.1, which is already available for few Moto devices.

The update is already rolling out to the users of  Moto G4 Plus in India. If you did not receive the update wait for few days or try checking for it manually by heading over to system updates section in the Settings app.

Motorola’s instructions explain that for a successful installation, the battery in your phone should be at least 50% charged and your device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network or LTE.
