Moto Z Play is Getting Its Oreo Update Right Now in China!

It's raining Oreo Update today. Just a few minutes back we reported that Moto Z 2016 and Moto Z 2018 are getting Oreo and now it seems that Motorola is also rolling out same for the Moto Z Play.

Moto Z Play Oreo update in China is rolling out as OCN27.82-18 and has the latest March 1st 2018 Security Patch. It also features stability improvements and bug fixes.

Android Oreo comes with numerous enhancements over Android Nougat, such as faster booting, new Settings and Quick-Settings UI, Picture in Picture (PIP), Adaptive icons, Autofill, Notification timeout, Motorola has also add several new features to the latest software update.

Motorola’s instructions explain that for a successful installation, the battery in your phone should be at least 50% charged and your device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network or LTE.

If you haven't got the notification of this new software update yet, Just go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and it will automatically start downloading the latest update. Want to get rid of MIUI from your brand new Redmi Note 5 Pro? Well, LineageOS 14.1 with Stock Android experience is for you!

LineageOS 14.1 is now available for the recently announced Redmi Note 5 Pro (A.K.A Redmi Note 5 for China). The LineageOS 14.1 is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which is not the latest OS, but still great for Stock Android lovers.

Developer vasishath says that "Almost Everything" works in this Custom ROM including Boots, Volte, RIL (Calls, SMS, Data), Fingerprint, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Camera, Camcorder, Video Playback, Audio, Sensors, Flash, LED, and GPS.

You'll need an Unlocked Bootloader with TWRP recovery installed on your Redmi Note 5 Pro (How to Video Guide coming later tomorrow on our YouTube Channel). Rest of the process includes Downloading and Flashing Google Apps and LineageOS 14.1.

Motorola has already started working on Android 8.0 Oreo for eligible Moto devices and today we want to take a look at everything we know about the Moto devices Android 8.0 Oreo update and its release as we push deeper into the year.

Moto X4 Android 8.0 Oreo Release Notes are now live. So, the company is most likely to start Android 8.0 Oreo official rollout for the Moto X4 by the end of this month or early January. Taking about the Android One Moto X4, Google promised to update the Moto X4 on Project Fi to Android Oreo by the end of 2017. We will let you know once the update is live.

Motorola has started sending out Android Oreo Soak Test invitations to the Moto Z users enrolled for Motorola Feedback Network. Android 8.0 Oreo Beta may hit the Moto Z within next 48 hours.

Motorola has internally started testing Android 8.0 Oreo Beta on the Standard Moto Z. As you can see in the below screenshot, the Android 8.0 Oreo Internal Beta features November 2017 Security Patch.

Android 8.0 Oreo for other Motorola devices?

We haven't seen any sign of the Android 8.0 Oreo update for any other Motorola device apart from the one mentioned above.

The Moto devices likely to get Android 8.0 Oreo includes Moto X4, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z2 Play, Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Droid and Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto G5s Plus, Moto G5s, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5, and Moto G4 Plus.

Not only the 2016 Moto Z, the Moto Z 2018 (Special Edition) which was announced back in late 2017 with a price tag of 9999 Yuan ($1500) is getting Android 8.0 Oreo (ZUI).

Moto Z 2018 Oreo update is rolling out as OCX27.138-29 and has December 2017 Security Patch (eh?).

First Real Moto E5 Plus Pictures Make Appearance

The entire world is looking for next 2018 Motorola budget phone which is the Moto G6 and Moto E5 family to release at the earliest, but one has to wait a little few weeks to get hands on it. And leaks about the phone are keeping you at bay.

Recently, Moto G6 Play (XT1922-1), G6 (XT1925-7), G6 Plus (XT1926-5), and E5 (XT1924-3) went through TKDN Certification in Indonesia. Earlier this month, all the above mentioned Motorola Smartphone cleared FCC, the G6 Play even cleared NCC revealing a set of Real Life Images. It seems that Motorola is gearing up for a global launch of the Moto G6 and Moto E5 family.

Today, we have first real (non-render) pictures of the Moto E5 Plus with plastic gloss back, which actually looks premium. The fingerprint sensor is moved to the rear with batwing logo thanks to brand new Motorola branding to the front. Additionaly, we have 18:9 Full Screen Display.

There's no information regarding the Price, or Specifications. We got the Moto E4 and E4 Plus last year around July, but Motorola probably needs to release something to get sales back on track. Thoughts?
