Google Pixel and Pixel XL Factory Images and OTA Files now available


Google has just released the Factory Firmware Images, OTA Files and Driver Binaries for the Pixel and Pixel XL.

The Firmware Images will help Pixel users to put the Smartphone back to Original Software condition while the you can flash the OTA for doing a manual software update to latest version, without wiping the whole data.



For now there are three Factory Images namely- NDE63H, NDE63L, NDE63P. Note- The Images are different for different carriers and country.

How to Download and Install Official Android 7.0 Nougat OTA Update for Moto G4 Plus



Few days back, we reported that the Moto G4 Plus in Brazil is getting Android 7.0 Nougat and the same was spotted in India. It seems to be a Soak test though or may be not. 

Somehow, someone named "Rahul Trivedi" has captured the OTA of the Incoming Android 7.0 Nougat update for Moto G4 Plus and now you can easily Install the update on your "Moto G4 Plus". 



Note:- This OTA.zip file is only for Moto G4 Plus (Indian-Athene-Retail)(XT1643, XT1640, XT1626), I don't know if it will work on Other variants or not, try it out on your own risk and comment below.


Steps for How to manually update the Moto G4 Plus to Android 7.0 Nougat-





Step 1. Download the OTA zip file from below link.

Step 2. Boot to stock recovery mode. 
(Watch above video) (Boot to Fastboot mode> Recovery> You will see "No Command"> Press Volume Up and Power to enter Recover mode".)

Step 3. Select Apply Update from Sdcard.

Step 4. Choose Blur_Android7_Nougat_Athene (Whatever) .zip.

Motorola and Lenovo are all set to reveal the newest addition to Moto Family i.e. the Moto M and the Moto M Plus. Both the Smartphones are Mid-Tier phones which will probably replace the Moto X.

Moto M: Codenamed "Kung-Fu" The Smartphone features a a full HD 5.5" display, a MediaTek processor with 4GB of RAM, and a 16/8MP camera set up. Its model number is XT1662 and runs Marshmallow.



In terms of design, expect a gold aluminum unibody and a rear fingerprint scanner. No, it's not on the Motorola dimple. They chose to include the logo on the bottom of its back. The Device has tiny side bezels which makes it looks premium.

Moto M will be the first Motorola Smartphone to feature a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and the first Moto Phone to support "4G+" (which is capable of 90Mbps speeds). The Smartphone comes with Pre-Installed Microsoft Apps including. 




Although we first reported the phone was made by Lenovo and not its Motorola Mobility subsidiary, new information suggests Motorola is behind this new phone. It will show both Lenovo and Motorola brands in the box, but it's manufactured by Motorola Mobility just like previous Moto phones

Google's new Pixel and Pixel XL which comes with Android 7.1 will be the first to get Latest Android updates until October 2018.



According to Google's 'Check & update your Android version' support page, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL is guaranteed to receive Android updates until October 2018 i.e. 2 years, while the same will get security patches for at least 3 years from when the device first became available, or at least 18 months from when the Google Store last sold the device, whichever is longer.




Here's the actual statement-



Pixel phones get the latest version of Android directly from Google.
If you bought your device from the Google Store, updates will typically reach your device within 2 weeks. If you bought your device from your mobile operator or somewhere else, updates may take longer.
Pixel phones get Android version updates for at least 2 years from when the device became available on the Google Store. After 2 years, we can't guarantee additional updates.
Pixel phones get security patches for at least 3 years from when the device first became available, or at least 18 months from when the Google Store last sold the device, whichever is longer.

Motorola posts Android 7.0 Nougat release notes for Moto G4 and G4 Plus

Looks like Motorola will soon start rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat for 2016 Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The company has posted Android 7.0 Nougat update release notes for the device on its India support website.
