Make sure you have Motorola Moto E XT1022 Indian variant only , your system version should be  21.12.40.condor_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03rete  .



So , Every one can Update their Moto E XT1022 using this method , It will not void your Warranty . If you don't like Lollipop , You can Downgrade it to Kitkat using this Guide -

How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto E 2nd Gen ( 2015 )

Like other Motorola Smartphones you can Unlock Moto E 2nd Gen Bootloader also . Unlocking Bootloader voids warrenty , but still people Unlock Bootloader for Development Purposes .

Note -

Keep a backup of your data before following the steps , as Unlocking will wipe all your data .

By following this below guide , you can easily unlock your bootloader of Moto E 2nd Generation .

How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto E 2nd Gen ( 2015 ) -

Step 1. Download Minimal ADB and fastboot from below .

Step 2. Download and Install Latest Motorola Drivers from below .

Step 3. Go to Moto E 2nd Gen Settings > Developer Settings and Select Allow OEM Unlock .

Step 4. Switch off your Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen and Boot to Fastboot mode by pressing Power + Volume down button at the same time .

Step 5. Now Open Minimal ADB and fastboot ( which you downloaded in step 2 ) on PC and open cmd from there .

Step 6. Connect your Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen to PC via USB cable .

Step 7. Type This on Cmd   fastboot oem get_unlock_data  .

You will get a String , just copy it and Paste it in a Notepad and remove empty spaces from it .

Step 8. Go to Motorola's website and Log in using your Google / Motorola Id and paste the Copied String on 6th Step .

Step 9. Now complete all the Steps at Motorola's Website and Request unlock key . 

Step 10. You will get an Unlock key at your mail id , just copy it .

Step 11. In Cmd ( which you opened following step 5 ) type -

fastboot devices 

It will check , your device is connected or not , after that type -

fastboot oem unlock Key 

Replace Key with the Unlock Key , you got on Step 10 .

Thanks to squid2 ( Xda developer ) for making Cm12.1 for Moto E 2nd Generation 3G variant XT1506 . There are only few bugs in the rom which includes - Camera force stop ( some times ) , Video issue .

Moto G and Moto E might not get Android M update

In 2013 Motorola launched Moto G 1st Generation a mid ranged Smartphone and while in 2014 May , it launched the low end Smartphone i.e Moto E 1st Generation .

Both of the smartphones was most sold Smartphones at that time , also both the smartphones features great specification the this price range . 

Motorola Moto G and Moto E comes with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and Motorola has also updated the Smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop and even 5.1 is now rolling out for Motorola Devices including Moto G and Moto E 1st Generation .

But these 1st Generation Motorola Devices may not get the Android M update officially by Motorola . 

Note - This is not the official statement by Company . Company can give Android M update  .

This is an assumption and we have reasons for that ! Else everything depends upon Company's offical Statement !

Why Moto G 1st Generation will not get Android M update ?

• Moto G 1st Generation being launched at 2013 November and Today is 2015 and its being more than 19 months for the device receiving Motorola Official Android updates and According Google Policy , The smartphone will not get official update after 18 months .

Why Moto E 1st Generation will not get Android M update ?

• Moto E 1st Generation which was launched in May 2014 and its being 1 year that Motorola is updating the device . Also Google has now released Android M developer preview and will launch official Android M update from November and so on Motorola will start giving updates to Motorola devices after 2016 and you still assume that Moto E 1st Generation will get Android M update ?

• Also Moto E 1st Generation features are not so amazing that they will handle Android M , It will boot with Android M but still it will be having some bugs and battery issue .
