How to restore Moto G 2014 [XT1068] back to Stock 4.4.4 Kitkat

Many users installs Custom roms , Updates manually without knowing the bugs ,having bootloops , bricked device . This guide will teach , How to restore your previous Official Android 4.4.4 Kitkat version on Moto G 2014 . 


This guide will work on Moto G 2014 XT1068 dual sim  Only . 
This guide will also help the ones who have upgraded to Lollipop and want to downgrade it to Kitkat .

 How to restore your previous Official Android 4.4.4 Kitkat version on Moto G 2014 -

Step 1. Enable USB debugging and RSA Key should be allowed .

Step 2. Download the Android 4.4.4 Kitkat package from below .

Step 3. Extract the zip to your Laptop / PC .

Step 4. Plug your Moto G 2014 via USB cable to your PC .

Step 5. Run the Auto Restore Script ( You will get the file in the downloaded zip below ) .

How to Install Official TWRP ( touch recovery ) on Moto G 2014 [ Lollipop compatible ]

Custom recovery is must for Installing other custom roms like Cyanogenmod , PAC , or any flashable zip , mods etc . So here is the best custom recovery for Motorola Moto G 2014 ( 2nd Generation ) . 

Twrp recovery is the touch based custom recovery . Thanks to luca020400 ( Xda developer ) for Officially making it for Moto G 2nd Generation .

There are no bugs in the recovery , so you can flash it easily by following below steps -

Step 1.Download TWRP recovery from below .

 Step 2. Flash it using any other recovery .

 Or 

 Step 1. Step 1.Download TWRP recovery from below .
Step 2. Go into bootloader mode (power off and hold power+vol down and release)

Step 3.Connect the phone to your PC

Step 4.Install Adb and Fastboot into your PC (if don't install yet) (Windows, Mac)

Step 5.From CMD or Terminal go into your the download folder and execute:

 fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

( rename the recovery image name to recovery.img)

And finally Moto G 2nd generation users can Install Cyanogenmod 12 Android 5.0.2 on their Smartphone . A great Thanks to k2wlxda ( senior xda member ) who made Cm12 possible for Moto G 2nd Generation .

Hence Android 5.0 Lollipop is officially announced for Moto G 2nd Generation but Cyanogenmod os seems to be best among all the official builds !
