Xiaomi just released the official list of devices getting the newest Android version. As usual, expect this year products and also some of the 2016 portfolio to get the new Android Nougat 7.0 or 7.1.1 by the fourth quarter. The Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 4c, Mi 4S, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix, Redmi Note 4X are among the 14 devices said to get Android 7.0 Nougat update. However, Xiaomi has already started rolling out the Nougat update for the Mi 5.
Additionally, the list also mentions the Xiaomi devices that will be getting Android 7.1 and it includes, Mi 6, Mi Max 2, Mi 5c and Redmi 4X. Well, I am literally shocked to see that one of the most popular Xiaomi Smartphone, the Redmi Note 4 will not be getting Android 7.0 Nougat update. Instead, the company is updating Mi Note and other old devices to Nougat. However, even if your device is not in the list, there are chances that your Xiaomi smartphone may get an update to MIUI 9, which is expected to come with new features.
