Moto G 3rd Generation Getting Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in India

Update - The Rollout has started and every Moto G3 user living in India is getting 6.0.1 Update !

Motorola has finally started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update for Moto G 3rd Generation . Android 6.0.1 Seems to be last Marshmallow version and its finally out for Moto G3 users .

The Update comes with Latest March 2016 Security patch . The Update is of 371.4 MB and will update Moto G 3rd Generation from Marshmallow 6.0 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow .



Motorola has also added the new features of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in this sweet update , The new update comes with -

• Android Security - Includes the updates of Android security patches until March 1st 2016.

• Power button to launch camera - You can now launch the camera by double-pressing the power button.

• Camera shutter tone switch - The camera shutter tone switch is back. Now you can turn off and on the sound of the camera shutter at any time.

• Stability Improvements - Includes changes that fix bugs and improve the stability of your phone.

Motorola has also posted release notes of Moto G 3rd Gen update for India .

For now only few users have got the update , Keep checking your Smartphone's Setting > Software update .. the update is on its way !

LG Nexus 5 will get Android N or Not ? Find out Here !

Android N developer preview firmware images are out for many nexus Devices ( including  Nexus 5X, 6, 6P, 9, Player and Pixel C ) . But Where is the legendary Google's LG Nexus 5 ?

Seems this time Google might ditch Nexus 5 Android N update . 

Nexus 5 was announced back on October 2013 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat pre-installed and still it is update-able to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Os . 



Last year , Google confirmed that they won’t be updating the Nexus 4 to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. Google explained that this is due to the age of the device, which has passed its support tenure.

So This time also Google might not update Nexus 5 to Android N due to age of the device . 



Though Google might have not provided Android N developer preview images for Nexus 5 , but we can still hope for Official firmware images of Android N for Nexus 5 ( which will be released on May 18 ) .

Android N will enable users to set Display size

Android N developer preview images are out now and Android N is a very major upgrade over Android 6.0 Marshmallow .

There are many new changes in Android N like , Split screen feature , Quick reply from notification , Night mode and many more . One new feature of Android N is " Screen Zoom " .

The screen on the right shows the effect of increasing the Display size of a device running an Android N system image.

Android N enables users to set Display size which magnifies or shrinks all elements on the screen, thereby improving device accessibility for users with low vision. Users cannot zoom the screen past a minimum screen width of sw320dp, which is the width of a Nexus 4, a common medium-sized phone .

Android N Developer Preview Leaked Online : Here's what we know

Google is going to reveal its next Android version on May 18 , but according to Ars Technica  The next Android version is already leaked online . 

Though Ars Technica has removed the original article with all the links , but here are some images that a reddit user caught .

So , Yes split screen ( Multi-Window ) feature will be there on Android N . Also This time Android N is gonna be more colorful and simple ( Somewhat like ios 9 ) .

This will be new Notification Bar , Users will be able to reply directly from the notifications .

2.3% of All Devices have Android Marshmallow Installed

Every month Google updates Android distribution statistics . This time according to Google's Android distribution statistics , Marshmallow is running on 2.3% of all Android Devices .

Android Marshmallow share has grown upto 1.2% from past month . 



For now , Android Lollipop (5.0 and 5.1) is the most popular version of Google’s mobile operating system with a combined share of 36.1% , followed by Android Kitkat v4.4 with a share of 34.3%.

While Android Jelly bean  (4.1, 4.2, and 4.3) have a total share of 22.3% devices, followed by Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 had a share of 2.3%. Android Gingerbread 2.3 and Froyo 2.2 are still active with a share of 2.6% and 0.1% respectively.
