Samsung starts testing Android 7.1 Nougat for several devices

It's been a while since Google launched Android 7.1 Nougat for selected Nexus and Pixel devices. Now, According to new reports Android 7.1 might hit Several Samsung phones, including the Galaxy S8, soon.

Samsung has already started targeting Android 7.1, rather than 7.0 with their latest update of Samsung Health and Samsung Game Tuner. Both the applications are only supported on Samsung phones, leading to the theory that the Android 7.1 Nougat update is currently under testing.

The recently announced Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and Android 7.1 would be a welcome move, as the inclusion of the almost a year old Android 7.0 was one of the Galaxy S8's biggest disappointments.

Samsung has already started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge, Galaxy S6, S6 edge and Note 5. So, these devices are on the top of the list which are likely to get Android 7.1 Nougat.

Motorola Moto C and Moto C Plus to Come With MediaTek Chips Targeting Entry-Level Markets

Earlier today, we reported that Motorola is working on their cheapest Moto phone ever and it will be reportedly called as Moto C. A new leak from a famous tipster, Evan Blass, says that Motorola will launch the Moto C and C Plus targeting first-time smartphone buyers. 

Blass further claims that the Moto C and C Plus will feature same design language and might also come with a 5-inch display, but different innards. The Moto C will feature a WFVGA display (854 x 480) resolution, whereas the Moto C Plus will feature a 720p panel (1280 x 720). 

Both the phones will differ in other specifications too, the Moto C Plus will be an LTE-only phone, while the Moto C will support both 3G and 4G networks. The Moto C will come with come with a 32-bit 1.3GHz MediaTek SoC, and the Moto C Plus will feature a 64-bit MediaTek chip with same clock speed. RAM in Moto C will be limited to just 1GB, and the Moto C Plus will come in 1GB/2GB of RAM models, but it ultimately depends on the region. The Moto C will come with 8GB/16GB of onboard storage, and the C Plus will undoubtedly feature 16GB of internal storage.

Both the phones will come with a 2MP front-facing camera. The Moto C will get a 5MP snapper at the rear, and the C Plus will get an 8MP unit at the back. The biggest difference between both the phones will be the battery capacity as the Moto C will be backed with a smaller 2350mAh battery. On the flip side, the Moto C Plus will get a massive 4000mAh battery. 

All said, both the phones will boot Android Nougat out-of-the-box. However, Blass did not reveal the pricing of the phones. The phones might be announced alongside Moto E4 and E4 Plus next month.

Android O Breaks Apps that Overlay on top of the Status Bar

The Android O comes with some new features such as notification channels, advanced doze mode, self destructing notifications, and tons of other tiny features. We have already listed the completely new features of the Android O here.

With previous Android versions, apps have been able to operate on top of other apps and system UI elements for certain functions. However, with the arrival of Android O, such apps results in huge UI mess and eventually breaks the status bar.



This happens because the TYPE_SYSTEM_OVERLAY is deprecated and replaced with TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY. This means that, while system overlays will still continue to function for the most part, apps will no longer be able to draw over the status bar.

This feature also stops Twilight (Night Mode) covering parts of the screen like the status bar or keyboard, which would defeat the purpose of the application. 

Since this is just the first Developer Preview for Android O, Google might add new or remove some of the existing features in future builds.

New Leak Tips the Pricing of Nokia 9; To Cost $699 in the US

Nokia is said to unveil a bunch of Android smartphones by the end of this year, and one of them will be the flagship Nokia 9, which will be the company's first phone to use Snapdragon 835 SoC. 

According to a new report from Nokiapoweruser, the Nokia 9 will be announced by the end of July of early August at the same time when Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be announced. The phone will be sold sometime later in Q3 2017. 

Also, the leak suggests that the Nokia 9 will cost $699 in the US and 749 Euro in some of the European countries. What's interesting is the Indian price leak. Yes, according to the rumor, the Nokia 9 will be sold in India for Rs. 44,999. 

Previous rumors suggest that the Nokia 9 will come with an IRIS scanner, fingerprint scanner, IP68 rating, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 3500mAh. battery, 5.7-inch Quad HD display, and Android Nougat.

Xiaomi Mi 6 With Snapdragon 835 SoC to Launch on April 19: Officially Confirmed

So, here we bring the most anticipated news of the month. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was confirmed to launch this month itself by CEO Lei Jun. Some misleading news suggested that the phone will be announced today, however, Xiaomi will announce the phone on April 19, just two days before the Samsung Galaxy S8 sale. 

Our source also confirmed that Xiaomi will be ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack with the Xiaomi Mi 6 in favor of the USB Type-C audio. It is already a known reason why Xiaomi delayed the Mi 6 launch till now: the availability of Snapdragon 835 SoC. 



As you might be aware of the fact that Samsung used the entire first batch production of Snapdragon 835 on their Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, that apparently left Xiaomi with only option- delay the phone until you get the chip. 

As far as rumored specifications go, the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two variants- Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus. Both the variants will be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, and the Mi 6 Plus might come with a dual lens camera at the rear. All said, these are just rumored specs. We will have to wait until April 19 to know the final details of the device.

Earlier this month, Motorola accidentally leaked the Moto X 2017 and the Moto C in their YouTube video while Celebrating their 44th anniversary of first Mobile Phone Call.

Today's leak is coming from the most prominent tipster of Motorola Smartphones, "uncap" (Weibo). In his profile, he posted an image of the Moto C in all Different Colors, which looks absolutely stunning and is on-par with the earlier leaked rumors. 

Yes, the Moto C will be Motorola's ultra-budget Smartphone and will be priced even lower than the Moto E phones. As far as the Specs are concerned, the Moto C will be powered by a Mediatek MT6737m processor paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB Internal memory. It will feature a 5-inch F2VGA Display with 854x480 resolution, 5MP Rear, 2MP front camera and 2300mAh removable battery.

With a Saturn ring camera design, the smartphone do looks premium. It will be coming with Android 7.0 Nougat with Pixel launcher. Motorola is expected to launch the Device with a price tag of around $50-$80. Thoughts?

Samsung Galaxy S7 users facing many issues following Android Nougat update

Android users desperate for the latest version of Android Nougat operating system are having a torrid time. Samsung Galaxy S7 users are facing tons of issues after upgrading to Android Nougat and users have taken to Verizon Wireless support page to discuss the same. 

If you haven't updated your Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge to Android 7.0 Nougat, you might be better off skipping Nougat for a few days/weeks after reading the list of issues below.



Samsung Galaxy S7 users running Android 7.0 Nougat are reportedly facing Camera issues like underperformance, crashes, and unresponsive settings. This, however can be fixed by resetting camera app or restoring factory settings. Flower photography is probably the most explored area of amateur photography, but the results for many people are never in touch with what they saw. So, Google has gathered a few tips to help
you to take and share the prettiest photos of different flowers with the help of your Pixel Smartphone.

Lighting is key. Check your exposure to ensure you're giving your plants and flowers the right amount of light to see the details. On Pixel, you can easily brighten or darken your shot to get the perfect amount of exposure. Tap the camera, the slide your finger up or down to adjust the exposure depending on the lighting conditions.

Consider your frame. Take note of the surrounding area (is it worthy of the ‘gram?). If it’s not, zoom in. If it is, capture a wider angle that shows the full view. On Pixel, you can use a compositional tool to help frame your shot. Look for the grid in the top right of the camera—your arrangement should be at the center of the grid. We recommend 3 x 3 as a ratio for flowers.

That Lens Blur, tho. This Pixel feature will make your photos look professional. Start by clicking on the menu bar at the top left; you’ll see the Lens Blur option second from the bottom. Click on it, take your photo and slowly raise your phone to capture the perfect lens blur. After you snap a photo you can also edit the placement and degree of lens blur.
