Moto X Style gets Android Nougat with August Security Patch in the UK

After a long wait, the Moto X Style users living in the UK are finally getting Android 7.0 Nougat update with August Android Security Patch.

If you own a Moto X Style in the UK you should have received the over-the-air update notification for Nougat. Motorola has rolled out the latest firmware for the Moto X Style in these countries.

Android 7.0 Nougat for the Moto X Style brings August Security patch, Duo video calling application, and other Android 7.0 Nougat goodies.

If you haven't got the notification of this new software update yet, Just go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and It will automatically start downloading the latest update. The update will take around 10-15 minutes to get Installed on your device.

Moto X Style gets August Security Patch in India

It's been a few weeks since Moto X Style got Android 7.0 Nougat Software update in India, and now Motorola has started rolling out August Security Patch with Stability Improvement and Bug Fixes.

This new update brings August 1, 2017 Security patch and stability improvements fixes. This update comes with build no. NPHS25.200-15-3. While this update would have been more exciting if it had brought Nougat 7.1.1, which is already available for Moto Z Smartphones.

The update is already rolling out to the users of the Moto X Style in India. If you did not receive the update wait for a few days or you can check it manually by going to Settings - About Phone - Software Updates.

Motorola’s instructions explain that for a successful installation, the battery in your phone should be at least 50% charged and your device should be connected to a Wi-Fi network or LTE.

It's Great to see that Motorola is still supporting a 2 year old device.

Moto X Style Nougat update is now out in these countries

We first reported last week that the Moto X Style Nougat update had been released in India, France, Netherlands, Brazil, Italy, Canada, and Germany.

If you own a Moto X Style in the Poland, Finland, Belgium, and Greece you should have received the over-the-air update notification for Nougat. Motorola has rolled out the latest firmware for the Moto X Style in these countries.

After a lots of Soak tests, Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat Software update for the users of the Moto X Style.

We've seen the update coming through Moto X Style in India, France, Netherlands, Brazil, Canada, Germany, and other countries. It weighs around 1GB and features May 1, 2017 Security patch, Duo video calling application, and other Android 7.0 Nougat goodies.

Moto X Style Nougat OTA captured and available for download

Today, we reported that Motorola has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat Software update for the Moto X Style with May Security patch, Video calling Duo application and other Nougat goodies. Well, if you haven't received the update yet, then this recent development might be of interest to you.

A Google Plus user "Milton Fernandez" has managed to capture the Moto X Style XT1572 (DUAL Brazil) Android 7.0 OTA update, meaning that owners of the Moto X Style codename CLARK can install the update right now if they wish to (link to Google Plus post at the bottom of the page). But before you do, there are a few things to consider-

Andre Luis Fontolan has stated that this update can only be flashed on Moto X Style (Brazil variant). It might not work on Moto X Pure Edition (American). Note that this OTA file is for the Moto X Style, so do not attempt to flash it on other devices.

We recommend you to wait for the official OTA, as Motorola has already started pushing the update. The company’s official Facebook handle has also confirmed that the Nougat update will reach the Moto X Style in a couple of weeks, and the Moto X Play in Mid-July

Moto X Style (Pure Edition) Now Getting Nougat Update in Brazil

As promised, Motorola has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Moto X Style (Moto X Pure Edition) in Brazil. 

Moto X Style users living in Brazil have reportedly started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update with May 1, 2017 Android security patch. Motorola also adds Video calling Duo application, Stability improvements other interesting features along with Android 7.0 goodies.

For now, only a users living in Brazil have started receiving the latest Android 7.0 update on their Moto X Style. This means that the Android 7.0 Nougat won't be coming to all regions at once.

[Updated] Moto X Style to get Nougat in a couple of weeks, Moto X Play in Mid-July

Most of you guys were asking about the Android Nougat update for the Moto X Style and Moto X Play, so here's the official ETA (Estimated time of arrival) from Motorola. 

Motorola has confirmed that the two-year-old Moto X Play and Moto X Style will soon get to taste the latest Android Nougat update. The company’s official Facebook handle confirms that the Nougat update will reach the Moto X Force within few days, Moto X Style in a couple of weeks, and the Moto X Play in Mid-July.

As promised, the Moto X Force has already started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update with latest Security Patch, Video calling Duo application, New Moto Actions and all the usual Nougat goodies like quick settings customization, split-screen apps, and improved Doze Mode.

Update: Moto X Style (Pure Edition) Now Getting Nougat Update in Brazil

A Moto X Style user upgraded his device to 4GB of RAM

Launched back in 2015, the Moto X Style packs 3GB RAM and comes with 32GB Storage. Think 3GB of RAM or 32GB Internal memory is too low for a Smartphone like Moto X Style in 2017? How about 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Storage?

In particular, a Moto X Style user "Gopimfam" from China made it possible to upgrade the RAM as well as the Internal storage of the Moto X Style. The user has also uploaded some images showing the Moto X Style (XT1570) running with 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal storage.

A couple of weeks ago, a Nexus 5X user reportedly upgraded his Smartphone's RAM from 2GB to 4GB. Accordingly, Local companies in China will happily upgrade your RAM, all the way up to 4GB, for up to CNY 400 ($60). If you don’t want to go up to 4GB, you can upgrade to 3GB for a low price.

Obviously, this isn’t something everyone would be able to do, but if you are absolutely in love with your Smartphone and want to keep it going for next few years, something like this could certainly help with that. This is likely a practice that won’t take off in your country in any real capacity, but for those that can make it to the China, and don’t mind voiding their warranty, it’s a quick and cheap option to upgrade the RAM available in your device pretty quickly.

Android 7.0 Nougat is now rolling out for some Moto X Style users

Following weeks of testing Android 7.0 Nougat (Soak test) for the Moto X Style, the company has reportedly started rolling out the latest Android update to some selected Moto X Style users in India. 

The 7.0 Nougat update for the Moto X Style reportedly includes the February 2017 security patches and all the usual Nougat goodies like quick settings customization, split-screen apps, and improved Doze Mode.



For now, only a few users have started receiving the latest Android update on their Moto X Style. This means that the Android Nougat won't be coming to all devices at once, but selected users will get the update.

Moto X Style Gets a Soak Test for Android 7.0 Nougat in Brazil

Motorola kept its promise and is still one of the fastest when it comes to updating its devices! Now the company has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat (Soak test) for the Moto X Style. 

The Soak test weighs in at around 1.3GB and adds many new features including New Moto Actions (One-handed mode) and Android Nougat goodies to the Moto X Style.

Soak tests are beta tests for device firmware, usually sent to few dedicated members of Motorola's support forum. Public over-the-air updates usually start a few weeks (sometimes months) later. Moto Germany is expected to release the Official OTA for the Moto X family in May, 2017.

Motorola released the Moto X Style (Moto X Pure Edition in the US) or 3rd Gen back in 2015. Dubbed as phone of the year by many, the smartphone was loved by most of the people. The phone came running Lollipop and then was one of the first to get Marshmallow. Will it get Android Nougat now?

In this article, we will talk about moto X Style (Pure) Nougat update

We have good news for you all. The answer is YES, your phone will get the Android Nougat update by the end of the year. The phone was launched in 2015 and Google's policy of software updates cover 18 months past its release, and moto X Style is covered here. Don't expect it to get Android O, though, as N will be its final update.

There's some good news if you love custom roms: the phone has a great developer community and custom ROMs supporting it will be released by the end of the year too, so you will be able to play with all the new features that come with Nougat and some developer features. We will keep this post updated through the rest of the year to update you with all the news. Moto X Style (Pure) will likely see most of the popular roms like CyanogenMod 14 and others available as soon as they are released. 

As we told you some hours ago, moto X2 won't get Nougat officially, because its update would degrade its performance. But 2015 Moto phones will get Android Nougat for sure.
