In a press release issued by Cyanogen, the Company has announced the shut down of all the services including the support of CyanogenMod nightly builds.

As part of the ongoing consolidation of Cyanogen, all services and Cyanogen-supported nightly builds will be discontinued no later than 12/31/16. The open source project and source code will remain available for anyone who wants to build CyanogenMod personally.

The Company launched its first CyanogenMod build (which is an open-source operating system based on Android OS) release, version 3.1 based on Android Cupcake, back on July 1st 2009.

CyanogenMod grew in popularity, and a community of developers, called the CyanogenMod Team made contributions. Over 50 million people run CyanogenMod on their handset.

The company will work on a new project named "Lineage" that will be used to define the custom Android releases.
