[OTA] How to update Moto X Style to Official Marshmallow
Motorola has already Announced list of devices that are getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow update .

Moto X Style ( AKA Moto X 2015 , Moto X 3rd Gen ) is finally getting Official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update . If you are a Moto X Style user and want to update to Marshmallow then you can follow below steps .


[OTA] How to update Moto X Style to Official Marshmallow -


Step 1. Update Motorola Update Services from Play Store . ( If already updated go to step 2. ) .

Step 2. Reboot your Smartphone .

Step 3. Go to Settings > About Phone > System updates .

Step 4. You will get a Notification of  " New System update available " .

Step 5. Select " I'm In " and download the update and Install it .

Finally Moto X Style is updated to official Marshmallow .

Moto X Style and Moto X 2nd Gen getting official Marshmallow update
Motorola is finally rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to Moto X Style ( AKA Moto X 2015 , Moto X 3rd Gen ) and Moto X 2nd gen ( AKA Moto X 2014 ) .

For now Moto X Style and Moto X 2nd Gen will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade for the following devices and channels -
  • 2015 Moto X Style (3rd Gen) in both Brazil and India retail
  • 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) in Brazil retail



The update will be available in phases so some users will get , some will get a little bit later . You can follow our guide on -




    While 2015 Moto X Pure Edition users will start getting Marshmallow from next week , Along with it Moto G 3rd Generation users are next in line .

    Moto G 2nd gets Android Lollipop update in India : Install It Manually [ OTA Captured ]

    Motorola has finally started rolling Official Android 5.0 Lollipop for Motorola Moto G 2nd Generation ( 2014 variant ) In India . The new Android 5.0 Lollipop brings material User interface and Many changes in Android Interface . 

    Android Lollipop OTA has been captured by a xda dev and Now you can install it manually , without loosing its warranty !



    To install the update You just have to do the following -

    Follow the steps To manually Install It -

    Step 1. Download The OTA update Lollipop Zip from below !

    Step 2. Put the zip in your Sdcard .

    Step 3. Boot to stock recovery mode , using Power + volume down button , then use volume down and then volume up to enter recovery ! 


    Step 4. Choose Apply update from Sdcard and select the zip you downloaded on Step 1.

    Step 5. Enjoy Lollipop 5.0.2 on Your Moto G2

    [Updated] Moto G 1st Gen gets Android Lollipop update in India : How to Update

    Updated - It was just a soak test , that we rolling out for non registered users and the official Update will be out in few hours ! [ Confirmed by Motorola ]

     Motorola has finally started rolling Official Android 5.0 Lollipop for Motorola Moto G 1st Generation ( 2013 variant ) In India . The new Android 5.0 Lollipop brings material User interface and Many changes in Android Interface . 






    To install the update You just have to do the following -


    Situation 1. If you have received the update notification, then

    Step 1.     Select “Yes, I’m in”.

    Step 2. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.

     Step 3. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

    Your phone is now updated with lollipop


    Situation 2. If you have not received the Android Lollipop update notification then you manually check for update:

    Step 1. Select the Settings icon in the apps menu.

     Step 2. Select “About phone”.

     Step 3. Select “System updates”.

     Step 4. Select “Yes, I’m in”. After the software is downloaded, select “Install now”.

    After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.

    Your phone is now updated to lollipop

    Things Required -

     How to Update Motorola Moto Phones Using PC with Motorola Device Manager (MDM) -

     Step 1. Download The Motorola Device Manager (MDM) Sofware for your PC / MAC from below .


    Step 2. Install the Application .

    Step 3. Connect your Motorola device to the computer with a USB cable. Some drivers will Install .

     Step 4. If the update is available for your Motorola Phone , You will get a message from Motorola Device Manager (MDM) .

     Step 5. If you still not get any message - Open Motorola Device Manager (MDM) and click check updates manually .

    How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop Update on Moto G 2nd Generation -




    Step 1. Flash RETUAWS_XT1064_4.4.4_KXB21.85-17_cid9_CFC without flashing fsg.mbn (if you're on another firmware, you'll get errors on install process) ( Download Link Below )

    Important: Do not flash fsg.mbn or you will have NO SIGNAL after install and need to flash XT1068 fsg.mbn after install to get signal back.

    Step 2. Install custom recovery (CWM, TWRP, etc...)

    Step 3. Download and install Lollipop_Update.zip via recovery.

    Step 4. Wipe cache/data.

    Step 5. If you doesn't get any error at install process, reboot and wait... (it's around 5 minutes first startup)
