With Android M : External memory can be used as Internal

Recently Google revealed new Android M with many features and one of the feature include : External memory can be used and Internal memory .



This feature will be of great use for the Devices which comes with Low internal memory . If your device will be up gradable to Android M then your Storage Running out problem will be solved by just interesting an external Sdcard .

By this feature your External memory will act as Internal and vice versa . Every app data will be saved at External memory . 

This is a great feature , the thing required is Android M on your device .

CyanogenMod 12.1 Rom for Moto E 2nd Gen 3G XT1506 ( otus ) [ Android 5.1 Lollipop ]

Moto E 2nd Generation also known as Moto E 2015 is an upgrade version of Moto E 1st Generation . Moto E 2nd Generation comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box . 

Moto E 2nd Generation is both available in 3G ( otus ) and 4G ( surnia ) . Moto E 2nd Generation has a great developer support and now many roms are available for it .

Thanks to squid2 ( Xda developer ) for making Cm12.1 for Moto E 2nd Generation 3G variant XT1506 . There are only few bugs in the rom which includes - Camera force stop ( some times ) , Video issue .

How to Install CyanogenMod 12.1 Rom on Moto E 2nd Gen ( otus 3G) -

Step 1. Download Cm12.1 and Cm12.1 gaaps for Moto E 2nd Gen 3G from below .

You must be Rooted and have TWRP recovery install , in order to proceed to Step 2 , To Root and Install Recovery - Follow This Guide on How to Root and Install Recovery on Moto E 2nd Gen .

Step 2. Boot to recovery mode ( TWRP ) .

Step 3. Wipe data , Cache , dalvik cache and System .

Step 4. Install Cm12.1 zip and then Install gaaps after that .

Step 5. Reboot and wait for 5 - 10 mins for your Moto E 2nd Gen to boot .

Android 5.1 Rolling for Moto E ( 1st Gen ) in India

Motorola Moto E 1st Generation users can now update their Smartphones to Android 5.1 Lollipop . 

Motorola Moto E is a low end device by Motorola and was launched with Android KitKat inside . Motorola Moto E users can now update their Smartphones in India .



Soak test is now over and official Roll out has been started . Here are some screenshots of the Official Update -

No matter Your device is on Kitkat or Android 5.0.2 Lollipop . Just Follow the below steps to get Android 5.1 Lollipop update .
Go to settings > About phone and check for Software update .

Moto G and Moto E might not get Android M update

In 2013 Motorola launched Moto G 1st Generation a mid ranged Smartphone and while in 2014 May , it launched the low end Smartphone i.e Moto E 1st Generation .

Both of the smartphones was most sold Smartphones at that time , also both the smartphones features great specification the this price range . 

Motorola Moto G and Moto E comes with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat and Motorola has also updated the Smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop and even 5.1 is now rolling out for Motorola Devices including Moto G and Moto E 1st Generation .

But these 1st Generation Motorola Devices may not get the Android M update officially by Motorola . 

Note - This is not the official statement by Company . Company can give Android M update  .

This is an assumption and we have reasons for that ! Else everything depends upon Company's offical Statement !

Why Moto G 1st Generation will not get Android M update ?

• Moto G 1st Generation being launched at 2013 November and Today is 2015 and its being more than 19 months for the device receiving Motorola Official Android updates and According Google Policy , The smartphone will not get official update after 18 months .

Why Moto E 1st Generation will not get Android M update ?

• Moto E 1st Generation which was launched in May 2014 and its being 1 year that Motorola is updating the device . Also Google has now released Android M developer preview and will launch official Android M update from November and so on Motorola will start giving updates to Motorola devices after 2016 and you still assume that Moto E 1st Generation will get Android M update ?

• Also Moto E 1st Generation features are not so amazing that they will handle Android M , It will boot with Android M but still it will be having some bugs and battery issue .

How to update Asus Zenfone 5 to Official Lollipop manually

Asus finally announced official Android 5.0 Lollipop for Asus Zenfone . Asus is updating Asus Zenfone 4 , 5, 6 to Android 5.0 Lollipop .



Many of Asus users have received the update via OTA , but many of the users are still not receiving update . Asus Zenfone 5 users can update their smartphones manually to official Android 5.0 Lollipop update by following this procedure .

Step 1. First you need to download bridge firmware to update your Asus Zenfone 5 to version  2.22.40.53 . Download it from below , If you are already on bridge firmware then follow directly from Step 6 to update your zenfone 5 to Android Lollipop .

Step 2. Save the above downloaded bridge firmware to internal sdcard .

Step 3. Restart your Smartphone .

Step 4. After starting you will get a pop up box of Update , Click on ok .

Step 5. Now your Phone will be updated to bridge firmware  2.22.40.53 .

Step 6. Now we will update Asus zenfone 5 to Android 5.0 Lollipop .

Step 7. Download the Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for Asus zenfone 5 from below .

Step 8. Save the above downloaded bridge firmware to internal sdcard .



Step 9. Restart your Smartphone .

Step 10. After starting you will get a pop up box of Update , Click on ok .

Step 11. Now your Phone will be updated to Official Android 5.0 Lollipop 3.23.40.52 firmware .

As Android 5.0 Lollipop was very hard to root , but somehow many of the developers found a way to root Devices running on Android 5.0 Lollipop . But with the upgrading version of Android , its getting harder to Root the devices on latest Android .

One of the device has model no. XT1578 and has code name Clark , The device will come with 5.25 inch QHD display with 1440x2560 resolution and pixel density of 560 ppi .
