Mi A1 Android One Firmware Ported to the Redmi Note 4

Mi A1 Android One Firmware Ported to the Redmi Note 4
Well, You can now Install Mi A1 Android One Firmware on the Redmi Note 4, Thanks to developer "GLokin666". Additionally, all aspects of the phone except Fingerprint and VoLTE are working as expected.

Mi A1 uses A/B system that the Pixel devices use. The A/B systems means that when the device gets an update it will be downloaded and installed on the second system partition and when you restart that second partition will swap to become System A instead of B to make the updating process seamless. The A/B system can probably be altered by editing Boot Image files.

You'll need to Unlock Bootloader and Install TWRP Custom Recovery in-order to Install the Android One Firmware on  Redmi Note 4 Mido. You can grab the Custom Rom ZIP file from below.

The Firmware is based on Google's latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Additionally, Google plans to roll Android 8.0 Oreo update to Mi A1 by end of 2017, this also means that the Redmi Note 4 will also get Android 8.0 Oreo via Port.

5 Tips you need to know about internet security

5 Tips you need to know about internet security
As you all know, Internet security plays a vital role in keeping our devices safe from online threats of any kind. Which, as we all noticed by now, are becoming more and more frequent. Not to mention very dangerous. By the way things look, hackers won't stop too soon from affecting our lives and the way our gadgets perform. If we don't know how to protect ourselves and our PCs, tablets or smartphone against malicious software, we risk losing all the important data stored on them.

Individual users and companies, no matter if big or small, should pay extra attention to Internet security. After all, this makes the difference between a well-protected computer and one risking major damage. The Internet is a very dangerous place nowadays. If we don't know how to stay safe when using it, we'll leave the door open to all sorts of dangers.

All of this might sound scary, but there's a silver lining to it. We can stay protected from harm if we follow a list of simple rules. In today's post we're going to discuss 5 tips you need to know about Internet security. Read all about them and you won't have to worry about a thing anymore! Off we go.

Use a different password for your social media accounts

The temptation to use the same password for our Twitter, Facebook and other accounts can be quite big for many of us. The important thing here is to resist it every time it comes up. Otherwise hackers will find a quick way to figure it out and login to your social media profiles via this password. Using different and complex passwords is the best thing you can do. Password managers come in very handy in situations like these. LastPass and KeePass are only two of the best options you can look for online and try out for a while.

Another good idea here is to see if the accounts you're registered to have multi-factor authentication. If they do, use that and you'll feel way more secure than if they didn't.

Make sure the sites you visit use HTTPS

Hackers love it when we access Internet pages that start with HTTP. The latter is already obsolete because it's been proven to do a lot of damage from a security viewpoint. Websites containing the HTTPS we mentioned combine the HTTP - or Hypertext Transfer Protocol - with something called a Secure Socket Layer (SSL)/Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol.
In other words: you're offered strong encryption whenever a session between the browser you're using and a web server happens. This helps a lot when you're buying something online, for instance.

Be extra careful when using public Wi-Fi

Do you like to work from the park or a coffee shop? Then you'll most likely use their free Wi-Fi. This is going to make hackers very happy. Why? Because every time you open a website in your favorite place, you'll give them access to your device's most important data.
To avoid this from affecting you, too, we have a tip for you: before using public Wi-Fi, go to your computer. From there, disable the option called file sharing. Also, make sure you're connected to a VPN before opening a site that requires a password from you.

Choose strong Internet security solutions

Compared to your usual antivirus package, Internet security suites come with better protection for your computer. Especially against phishing, ransomware and other modern-day online threats. You can find out more about it and how to select the best option for you from here.

Remove suspicious emails

If you're at work and you notice unsolicited emails, chances are they contain dangerous attachments. Once you open them and click the suspicious links inside, you'll expose your PC to online threats. Better stay as far away as possible from going through any of that. Your company's IT department needs to be notified asap. They'll know how to deal with this kind of problem.
Dealing with online threats isn't so hard nowadays. There are many ways to prevent you from falling prey to hackers. If you want to keep your beloved devices as safe as possible, take a look at the 5 tips you need to know about Internet security!

Pixel 2 XL Gets the Teardown Treatment, Receives Decent Repairability Score

Pixel 2 XL Gets the Teardown Treatment, Receives Decent Repairability Score
The recently announced Google Pixel 2 XL with 18:9 3D display gets the teardown treatment from IFixit with decent repairability score. A teardown is important as it will tell us if it is well-built or if it is easily repairable.

The Pixel 2 XL is water-resistant, which makes the phone hard to open. Once inside, you will see the fingerprint sensor cable attached to the motherboard, LG Battery and new heat pipe to keep the internals from overheating.

The phone may remind you a lot of the 2016 Pixel XL but this one has ditched the audio phone jack. Completing the camera system is an 12.2 MP, f/1.8 rear and 8MP selfie camera and a dual camera module with optical image stabilization.

Checking out the motherboard, you will see inside the RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 64GB or 128 GB internal flash storage, and USB C port. Most of the parts are easy to repair so IFixit gives a score of 6 out of 10, which is better than many other devices.

Nokia 7 Design and Specs Leak!!!

Nokia 7 Design and Specs Leak!!!
Nokia is all set to reveal the Nokia 7 on October 19th during an event in China. The device is expected to feature mid-tier specifications. We haven't seen any possible renders or live images of the Nokia 7, but that's going to change today, thanks to an alleged leak from baidu.

As you can see in the below Sketch (Sort of), the Nokia 7 looks promising and resembles the upcoming Nokia 9 in terms of the rear design. The device may come with a 5.2" 1080p display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC.

One thing that is worth noticing is that the Nokia 7 will be having rear fingerprint sensor instead of front fingerprint sensor, which can be found in previous Nokia Smartphones including the Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8.

This leaked design is very likely going to be the real deal, as it came from trusted Nokia leaker Nokibar. That said, Nokia is expected to reveal the Nokia 7 tomorrow in China.

Recently Nokia announced the Nokia 8 with Outdated 5.3-inch QHD IPS display with huge chin and top bezels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. The phone comes dual rear cameras with Zeiss Optics, Splashproof (IP54), OZO 360-degree Audio, and includes USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Nokia 7 will be priced in at around 350$ which lies between the Nokia 6 and Nokia 8. Thoughts?

Just like the Moto G Play (G4 Play), the Moto G6 Play is going to be Motorola's ultra-budget Smartphone with average specs for 2018. Additionally, unlike the Moto E and Moto C series which comes with Mediatek Processor, the Moto G6 Play is expected to feature a Snapdragon SoC.

Motorola might reveal the Moto G6 series at the next Mobile World Congress that will take place in Barcelona in late February 2018.

In comparison to the Moto G5, Motorola is expected to at least implement the Snapdragon 435 with 3 to 4GB of RAM to the Moto G6 . The Moto G6 Plus, on the other is expected to come with the Snapdragon 630 or even Snapdragon 660, both SoC's being well above the current "Snapdragon 625" of Moto G5 Plus and Moto G5s Plus.
