OnePlus 5 leaked in live image, yet again

It's not that we haven't seen real-life images of the upcoming OnePlus 5, but a new leak has surfaced that probably gives you the another view of the flagship's rear.

We previously covered a leak by AndroidAuthority where the dual camera setup and antenna lines was clearly shown however this new leak has a very different story to tell. The below image shows that there are no antenna lines and the flash is now located between the dual camera lens.
OnePlus 5 Again Leaked in Live Image
Recently, we got an official news from OnePlus about its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 5. A staff member of OnePlus in OnePlus forums has said that the OnePlus 5's camera will be built in collaboration with the camera authority-DxO.

There has been a lot of confusion about the camera setup on OnePlus 5. The confusion was all about the camera design of the phone, but not the implementation. OnePlus 5 may get two camera sensors at the back, which may be the same setup as the iPhone 7 Plus. One sensor will capture standard shots, while the other sensor will capture zoomed shots.

Nokia 9 is Real and Here's the First Wrapped Up Images of the Phone!

Yesterday, we reported that three new Nokia smartphones with codename Heart were spotted on Geekbench and one of them with the Snapdragon 835 was the Nokia 9. Today, a website claims that they have used the prototype unit of the Nokia 9. However, the phone was wrapped with a protective case to protect the design from not being leaked.

But other details about the phone are leaked by the website. The Nokia 9 will have a dual camera at the back, but it is claimed that the camera quality is modest at its best. The phone will feature all the essentials such as the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and all the major sensors.
Specs wise, the Nokia 9 will have a 5.27-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440x 2560 pixels and will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC along with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. And the model number is also the same 'Heart.'
The report also says that the phone was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat with near stock interface on board along with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button same as the current Nokia devices. The home button is not a clickable one.

The report also says that the unknown Nokia device leaked in a video earlier this week is none other than the Nokia 9. That said, the Nokia 9 would be announced in coming weeks or by the end of June.

Rooted Android Device? Google Play Might Stop You From Downloading Certain Apps

Rooted Android Device? Google Play Might Stop You From Downloading Certain Apps
Recently, a few rooted Android users discovered that they can’t download Netflix from Google Play. In fact, Netflix is no longer allowing the rooted users to access the streaming service.

As per the new changes spotted on the Google Play developer console, the app developers are essentially now able to choose whether their apps are available to rooted users in the Play Store.

There's a new "device catalog" section on the Google Play developer console which includes an option called "SafetyNet exclusion" which can limit “devices that fail integrity tests or those that are uncertified by Google,” from installing a particular app.

Netflix is probably the first application to implement this feature, we won't be surprised if any other app take advantage of it. However, this won’t stop users from downloading the app from sources other than Play Store.

Android O Will Bring Redesigned Emojis- Say Goodbye to the Blobs!

With every major Android upgrade, Google brings new emojis, and with Android O, it's not changing as well. Google added new emojis with the Developer Preview of Android O, and they look a lot better than the blob styled ones seen on the Android N.

Finally, Google is ditching the blob emojis, which was hated by many out there and replacing them with much-rounded emojis and they look decent. That said, the new emojis is available only for the Android O users right now.

However, folks at xdadevelopers managed to port the emojis to other Android OS versions as well. Do make a note that your Android device should run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and above for the emojis to support.

Head over to this XDA thread to download and install the Android O emojis on your Android smartphone right away.

Three Nokia Smartphones With Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 630, and Snapdragon 660 Spotted in Geekbench

Three Nokia Smartphones With Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 630, and Snapdragon 660 Spotted in Geekbench
These days only three smartphone brands are in the news- Motorola, Nokia, and OnePlus. Nokia' first batch of smartphones will be released globally later this month, and the internet is all about the upcoming phones.

Today, three new Nokia phones with codename 'Heart' passed through Geekbench. Previously, the Nokia 3 was spotted with the same Heart codename. So, these new benchmarks may belong to the upcoming Nokia phones.

The benchmark leak showed that the phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 835, Snapdragon 630/626, and the newly announced Snapdragon 660. All the three phones were running Android 7.1.1 Nougat while the benchmark test was running.

The Snapdragon 835 phone may be the Nokia 9 with 4GB of RAM, while the Snapdragon 660 one might be the Nokia 8 with 3GB of RAM, and the Snapdragon 626 one might be the Nokia 7 with the same 3GB of RAM.

These three Nokia phones will be announced by the end of Q2 2017 and will be up for sale in early Q3 2017.

Motorola is Working on the Moto Z2 Since Ages Because it Was Benchmarking in Geekbench Since August 2016

Motorola is Working on the Moto Z2 Since Ages Because it Was Benchmarking in Geekbench Since August 2016
Motorola is working on various new smartphones for 2017 and one of them would be the Moto Z2 whose render was leaked recently showing off the design. Incidentally, the render was the first leak about the Moto Z2, which also confirmed its existence.

It appers like Motorola is working on the phone from August 2016 because a smartphone with XT1650 has been benchmarked in Geekbench since that month. There are numerous listings of the phone with a quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipset on board.

However, a listing on January 21, 2017 was benchmarked with Snadragon 835 chip and it achieved 1930 and 9207 single-core and multi-core scores respectively. The phone will have 4GB of RAM and boots Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.

The listing seems to be an unreal one but there's the fact that it was benchmarked with the latest chip should not be taken off. More details will be surfaced online in coming days.

Google's Android Go Project Will Resume Where Android One Project Has Left Off!

There are some decent number of announcements at the Google I/O 2017 event and the one that stole the limelight is the Android Go project. The new ambitious project from Google will replace the Android One project by delivering a lite version of Android to low-cost Andriod phones.

The Android Go project comprises of a lite version of the Android O aimed at the phones with 1GB RAM of less. Currently, all the Android phones irrespective of the hardware uses the same ecosystem, which is making the phones literally unusable at times due to the lack of insufficient equipment required by the core Android.

The Android Go will focus on three major things- OS, Apps, and Google Play Store. The OS as mentioned earlier will be stripped down to match the hardware, and it will comprise of lite Google apps such as YouTube Go, etc.

Finally, the Google Play Store itself will be a lite version which shows only the apps which will run smoothly on the platform. The Android Go project will be live in smartphones later this year, according to Google.

OnePlus 5 Camera Will be Built in Partnership with DxO

Finally, there's an official news from OnePlus about its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 5. A staff member of OnePlus in OnePlus forums has said that the OnePlus 5's camera will be built in collaboration with the camera authority-DxO.

The employee quoted in the forums as "We’re happy to announce that we have teamed up with DxO to enhance your photography experience with our upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 5. DxO is perhaps most well-known for creating the defining photography benchmark, the DxOMark. They’ve got years of imaging experience and expertise, both for professional cameras and for smartphones."

Oh Dear! Another Real Life Image of OnePlus 5 Shows Horizontal Camera Setup

Oh Dear! Another Real Life Image of OnePlus 5 Shows Horizontal Camera Setup

It's confusing and irritating. That's all we can say about the leaks about OnePlus 5. A few hours ago, we reported real life images of OnePlus 5 surfaced online showing vertically placed dual camera setup. Moments later, we have another image of the phone itself, but it has a horizontally placed dual camera setup.

Both the leaks are on par with earlier leaked ones as both the designs are leaked online a few days ago. Maybe these are the two prototype devices, and the device's design is yet to be made final.

In this image though, the OnePlus 5 looks more like the Meizu MX6 with same antenna band lines. The dual camera setup looks more like the Xiaomi's implementation here. But this design looks gorgeous than the other one, which more seems to be a OnePlus 3T.

The OnePlus 5 will go official this summer, and more leaks about the phone will come online ahead of the official launch. Stay tuned for more updates on OnePlus 5.

There might be a OnePlus 5T launched as well with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and bigger battery, but these are just speculations, so take them with a grain of salt.

Two Concept Renders of the OnePlus 5 Suggesting Horizontally Placed Rear Camera Surfaced Online
Amidst the Motorola smartphone leaks, the internet is completely dominated by the upcoming flagship killer, the OnePlus 5. Earlier today, it was spotted on the AnTuTu benchmarking site revealing key specs of the phone. And now, two new renders of the phone are posted online which allegedly shows the horizontally placed dual camera setup.

While one render looks like a real photoshopped image, the other render shows the device's design from a Meizu smartphone. As you can see the first picture, both the camera sensors are placed in a single module, same as the iPhone 7 Plus followed by a LED flash. What made this image weird is the antenna bands running over the top.

Speaking about the second render, the device looks like a Meizu MX6 in black colour and OnePlus logo. Nevertheless, it looks gorgeous though. The second image also looks like a photoshopped image because of the slight displacement of the LED flashlight.

That said, the specs of the phone are all but confirmed, but the design of the phone is yet to be leaked. The phone is officially confirmed to launch this summer.

Motorola 2017 roadmap LEAKS!

Motorola's 2017 full portfolio of phones has just leaked online. Popular Twitter leaker, Evleaks, just shared a picture from the presentation of the rumored Moto X4 we saw yesterday. The picture is showing many new phones, including the new Zs and the Moto X4. It's surprising to see so many Motorola leaks this year.

The picture of the presentation shows all the new devices that will launch this year. This includes a Moto Z Play, Moto Z Force, Moto X, Moto GS, Moto GS+, Moto E4, Moto E4 Plus, Moto C and Moto C Plus. Although we have seen specs and leaked renders of most of these phones, we now have the confirmed names and most relevant specs out of this roadmap.

We still have no information on when Moto and Lenovo will launch these devices, but you can expect them to be released really soon, as this presentation must have been an internal pre-launch thing. Evleaks Tweet can be read here:

Samsung Finally Releases a New Tizen Phone, But It's a Device from Old-Age

Smartphones have come a long way from what they are in 2011 or 2012. But Samsung just took us back to the initial stages of smartphone era by launching the Samsung Z4, the successor to Tizen OS's Samsung Z3 released back in 2015.

Samsung has been betting big on the Tizen OS to replace it with Android, but it is just a dream for the firm. The new Samsung Z4 doesn't inspire confidence in any aspect- design, specs, and pricing.

The phone comes with specifications such as a 4.5-inch WVGA display, 1.5GHz quad-core chip, 1GB of RAM, and a mere 2050mAh battery. The specs are just unbelievable on paper, considering we're in 2017. But, Samsung has its own reasons to release the smartphone.

Coming to the USP of the phone, it's the Tizen OS, which is the less secured OS, not many apps in the store, and many other drawbacks. Not at all a great thinking from the world's best smartphone brand, not at all.

Google is Promising to Fix Slow Android Updates for OEM Phones With the 'Project Treble'

Google is Promising to Fix Slow Android Updates for OEM Phones With the 'Project Treble'
Google has announced yet another project that will fix the slow Android updates in its partner phones. The 'Project Treble' from Google will fix the slow Android upgrades. Google with the Project Treble will 're-architect' the core Android.

Google says that it can achieve the same by “re-architecting Android to make it easier, faster and less costly for manufacturers to update devices to a new version of Android.” So, Google will separate out the vendor implementation section controlled by chip makers.

“With a stable vendor interface providing access to the hardware-specific parts of Android, device makers can choose to deliver a new Android release to consumers by just updating the Android OS framework without any additional work required from the silicon manufacturers,” says Google.

The Project Treble is already integrated into the Android O Developer Preview. In the past as well, Google started various projects to fasten the Android OS upgrades, but all of them went in vain. Hopefully, the Project Treble should solve the issue.

The So-Called Moto X (2017) Will be Called as Moto X4

The So-Called Moto X (2017) Will be Called as Moto X4
It's raining Moto X (2017) leaks nowadays. Yesterday, we saw a presentation video allegedly confirming the specs of the phone and now, popular tipster, Evan Blass claims that the phone won't be called as Moto X (2017).

Instead, the Moto X (2017) will be named as Moto X4. Seems somewhat unusual, right? But, Blass is pretty sure that Motorola will name is as Moto X4.

If you recall, Motorola released three generations of the Moto X- the Moto X, Moto X2, and the Moto X Style, which was the third generation. And, it's no wonder that Motorola is looking to resume the product portfolio by naming it as Moto X4.
The Moto X4 will feature a 5.5-inch Full HD glass layered with 3D glass on top. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The device will sport dual camera at the back, metal body, and a 3800mAh battery.

This is the Moto X (2017) With Dual Camera, 3D Glass, Metal Body, and IP68 Rating

This is the Moto X (2017) With Dual Camera, 3D Glass, Metal Body, and IP68 Rating
Motorola's Moto X (2017) was in the limelight some days ago because it was touted as the company's first dual camera smartphone. Several people imagined that Motorola has killed the Moto X series and replaced it with the Moto Z series. But, that not the case folks as Moto X (2017) will be released alongside the rumoured Motorola smartphones.

And now, a strange video has been leaked online, where some one is demonstrating the features of the Moto X (2017). At the background, the key specifications of the device are listed. The video says that the phone will be powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 660 SoC with 4GB of RAM.

There will be a 5.5-inch display up front, but what's interesting is that it will have a 3D glass on top, rather than the regular 2.5D curved glass. With the 3D glass, the display will be more curved and it will be the world' second smartphone to boast of 3D glass after Huawei Honor Magic.

The device will have a dual camera at the back, but the implementation is a msytery. The smartphone will have metal body and will be an IP68 dust and water certified one. There will be a beefy 3800mAh battery with Quick Charge support. Surely, it will be Quick Charge 4.0 as the Snapdragon 660 officially support it.

Motorola may launch the device in coming days, but no official confirming yet. With the leak coming as a presentation one from Motorola, there's no barrier to call it as a fake one. That said, these might be the final specifications of the phone.

Motorola Moto Z2 Play Grey Color Variant Along With Style Mods Leak Online

Motorola Moto Z2 Play Grey Color Variant Along With Style Mods Leak Online

Last month, we saw a render of the Moto Z2 Play is Crown Gold color, and now we have a render of the Lunar grey color variant of the same Z2 Play along with its Style Mods. As seen with the Moto Z Play, the Z2 Play will also get style mods in five colors.

The Moto Z2 Play won't feature drastic changes from the Moto Z Play because Motorola promised that the Moto Mods will fit their devices for the next two years.

Not only in the form of design, the device won't feature any drastic hardware changes as well. The phone will feature the same 5.5-inch display with increased brightness levels. The Snapdragon 626 will power the phone, but this time around there will be 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage.

The Z2 Play will use the same camera sensor as the Moto G5 Plus along with 5MP front-facing camera with dual tone LED flash. The battery size may also be trimmed down to 3000mAh, which will be a huge downgrade.

Samsung Updates its Launcher in Google Play Store and it's Galaxy S8 Launcher

Samsung has released an update to the TouchWiz Home launcher, and the update takes the launcher to the one seen on Galaxy S8/S8+. The update makes it to version number 6.1.02, and it's the same version as Galaxy S8 launcher.

The Galaxy S8 launcher has various new features, and it's much faster than the previous TouchWiz launcher. The biggest change is the scrapping of app drawer icon, which can now be accessed by swiping up from the home screen.

Samsung did not release the update for all the countries, and it is currently available in the US and other European countries. You can grab it from the Play Store or sideload the APK by downloading it from apkmirror.com

Also, make a note that the launcher works only with Samsung devices and that too devices running Android 7.0 Nougat only. If you've a Samsung Marshmallow device, then wait for the Android Nougat update.
