Moto G5s Renders Spotted Online Shows Complete Metal Body

A leaked product roadmap of Motorola some days ago revealed that Motorola is working on two relatively new smartphones- Moto G5s and Moto G5s Plus. At first, it seemed like a fake news because Motorola recently announced the Moto G5 and G5 Plus and why did it want to launch successors in such a short time.

But this is Motorola under Lenovo, not Google. The first press renders of the Moto G5s are out, and the device looks similar to the original Moto G5 from the front. From the rear though, the device resembles the Motorola Moto M which was released last year.

The Moto dimple is coming back and is placed below the rear camera module. The smartphone will be entirely made of metal, unlike the plastic edges are seen on the Moto G5.

The Moto G5s will boast a 5.2-inch Full HD display, while the Moto G5s Plus will have a 5.5-inch display with dual cameras at the back.

Nokia 9 Spotted on Geekbench Benchmarking Site With Insane Scores

Currently, the talk of the town is the Finnish smartphone vendor, Nokia's upcoming phone, the Nokia . While the Smartphone got leaked few days ago in real life Images, it is now spotted on benchmarking site Geekbench.

As you can see in the image below, it clearly states that the phone will bear a model number TA-1004, which was rumoured earlier as well. The device has a single core score of 2255, which is below the score of Apple iPhone 7 Plus but above the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and upcoming OnePlus 5.

However, the phone achieved a multi-core score of 7770, higher than any other smartphone released till date. The device was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat while running the benchmark test.

Until now, no phone has achieved the scores as the Nokia 9. In fact, the other Snapdragon 835 powered smartphones such as the Galaxy S8 duo, Xiaomi Mi 6, and Sony Xperia XZ Premium all have fewer benchmark scores.

Google Fuchsia OS Will Not Replace Android Says Google

Remember the Fuchsia OS, which we wrote two weeks ago? The ambiguous new mobile and tablet OS is said to replace Android when it becomes fully functional because it is built on Google's own kernel Magenta, rather than Linux.

Back in September 2016, Google was rumoured to be working on the Fuchsia OS, and two weeks ago, the OS was leaked online. Since then, there is a lot of buzz going on around the internet claiming that it will replace Android.

However, that's not the case says Dave Burke, Google VP of Engineering Android. He contends that the project is still in its nascent stages and also stated that it will be independent of Andriod. Expect the OS to power some low-cost devices out there.

Here is what Dave Burke has to say about the Fuchsia OS:

"How do you spell Fuchsia? Fuchsia is a[n] early stage experimental project. We, you know, we actually have lots of cool early projects at Google. I think what's interesting here is its open source, so people can see it and comment on it. Like lots of early stage projects it's gonna probably pivot and morph. There's some really smart people on it, people we've worked with who are great. and so [it's] kind of exciting to see what happens. But it's definitely a diff-- sort of independent project to android. and yeah, that's basically it."-Dave Burke,VP of engineering for Android, Google

So, it's now confirmed that Fuchsia OS is not a threat to Android, which would be a huge relief for many fanboys out there.

Android O Cool Feature Will Allow You to Pause a System Update Download and Resume it Later

Every individual with an Android surely would have experienced this: When you're downloading an Android system update and the power goes off, or your internet connection goes off due to some unknown reason, or maybe you've to go out after starting downloading the update.

For all these scenarios, the answer used to simple one- download the update from the start again. But that's gonna change with the Android O update as it adds a new 'Pause' feature to the OS allows users to pause a system update while downloading and resume it later.

This feature is already present in the latest Developer Preview 2 of Android O. That's a handy little feature to have around, and Google is bringing it with the Android O update.

Also, Google revealed that the 'pause' feature comes with a Google Play Services update, but currently limited to the people under Developer Preview of Android O.

OnePlus 5 leaked in live image, yet again

It's not that we haven't seen real-life images of the upcoming OnePlus 5, but a new leak has surfaced that probably gives you the another view of the flagship's rear.

We previously covered a leak by AndroidAuthority where the dual camera setup and antenna lines was clearly shown however this new leak has a very different story to tell. The below image shows that there are no antenna lines and the flash is now located between the dual camera lens.
OnePlus 5 Again Leaked in Live Image
Recently, we got an official news from OnePlus about its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 5. A staff member of OnePlus in OnePlus forums has said that the OnePlus 5's camera will be built in collaboration with the camera authority-DxO.

There has been a lot of confusion about the camera setup on OnePlus 5. The confusion was all about the camera design of the phone, but not the implementation. OnePlus 5 may get two camera sensors at the back, which may be the same setup as the iPhone 7 Plus. One sensor will capture standard shots, while the other sensor will capture zoomed shots.

Nokia 9 is Real and Here's the First Wrapped Up Images of the Phone!

Yesterday, we reported that three new Nokia smartphones with codename Heart were spotted on Geekbench and one of them with the Snapdragon 835 was the Nokia 9. Today, a website claims that they have used the prototype unit of the Nokia 9. However, the phone was wrapped with a protective case to protect the design from not being leaked.

But other details about the phone are leaked by the website. The Nokia 9 will have a dual camera at the back, but it is claimed that the camera quality is modest at its best. The phone will feature all the essentials such as the 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and all the major sensors.
Specs wise, the Nokia 9 will have a 5.27-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1440x 2560 pixels and will be powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC along with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. And the model number is also the same 'Heart.'
The report also says that the phone was running Android 7.1.1 Nougat with near stock interface on board along with a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button same as the current Nokia devices. The home button is not a clickable one.

The report also says that the unknown Nokia device leaked in a video earlier this week is none other than the Nokia 9. That said, the Nokia 9 would be announced in coming weeks or by the end of June.

Rooted Android Device? Google Play Might Stop You From Downloading Certain Apps

Rooted Android Device? Google Play Might Stop You From Downloading Certain Apps
Recently, a few rooted Android users discovered that they can’t download Netflix from Google Play. In fact, Netflix is no longer allowing the rooted users to access the streaming service.

As per the new changes spotted on the Google Play developer console, the app developers are essentially now able to choose whether their apps are available to rooted users in the Play Store.

There's a new "device catalog" section on the Google Play developer console which includes an option called "SafetyNet exclusion" which can limit “devices that fail integrity tests or those that are uncertified by Google,” from installing a particular app.

Netflix is probably the first application to implement this feature, we won't be surprised if any other app take advantage of it. However, this won’t stop users from downloading the app from sources other than Play Store.

Android O Will Bring Redesigned Emojis- Say Goodbye to the Blobs!

With every major Android upgrade, Google brings new emojis, and with Android O, it's not changing as well. Google added new emojis with the Developer Preview of Android O, and they look a lot better than the blob styled ones seen on the Android N.

Finally, Google is ditching the blob emojis, which was hated by many out there and replacing them with much-rounded emojis and they look decent. That said, the new emojis is available only for the Android O users right now.

However, folks at xdadevelopers managed to port the emojis to other Android OS versions as well. Do make a note that your Android device should run on Android 5.0 Lollipop and above for the emojis to support.

Head over to this XDA thread to download and install the Android O emojis on your Android smartphone right away.
