The Android 8.0 Oreo comes with a range of new features, including the key ones like autofill and picture-in-picture. Alongside these features, Android Oreo also brings along stronger security protections and speed improvements which are said to "keep you safe and moving at light speed".

Google says, "When you're on your next adventure, Android Oreo is the superhero to have by your side (or in your pocket!)." Google also unveiled a superhero-themed statue of an Android Oreo mascot wearing a cape and it really looks cool.

LineageOS 15 (Android 8.0 Oreo) Is Coming Soon to Moto G3, Ported by XDA Dev

With the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google also pushed Android Oreo source code to AOSP.

We all know that most of the devices won't be getting Official Android 8.0 Oreo update, but with Android Oreo AOSP code base, developers will be able develop custom ROMs for the Android devices based on Google's latest OS.

Well, if you are a Moto G3 (2015) owner, then this recent development might be of interest to you. XDA developer "Alberto Pedron" has successfully booted up Android 8.0 Oreo (LineageOS) on the Moto G 3rd Generation. The developer has also shared a screenshot showing the About Phone Settings section.

As you can see in the below Screenshot Image, the Moto G3 is running Android 8.0.0 Oreo based on LineageOS 15. It is having the latest August 5, 2017 Security patch.
The developer is actively working to fix all the bugs present and is expected release the Custom Rom soon.

You'll need to Root and Install TWRP Custom Recovery in-order to Install the LineageOS 15 Android 8.0 Oreo Rom on Motorola Moto G 3rd Generation Osprey.
