  4. To close it, drag it to the bottom of the screen. Or, touch it, then touch X .
To see which installed apps support Picture-in-picture
  1. Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced
  2. Touch Special app access > Picture-in-picture.
  3. Touch an app to change its permissions.

Notification Dots: A small, blue dot over an app icon indicates you have an unread notification for that app. Touch and hold the app to preview the notification.

Snooze Notifications: Swipe right slowly, and touch the clock , then select a duration to snooze notifications.

Android 8 offers improved storage management options:

Manage Phone Storage

Free up space by scanning for unused and old items like downloads and apps
  1. Go to settings > storage
  2. Touch FREE UP SPACE
  3. Uncheck any items you don't want to delete.
  4. Touch Free up XXX
  5. Touch Remove

Schedule Automatic Removal of photos and videos:

If you automatically back up your photos and videos turn on storage manager to remove copies from your phone's internal storage every 30, 60, or 90 days.
  1. Touch settings > storage
  2. Touch Storage Manager
  3. Toggle it ON, touch OK
  4. Touch "Remove Photos and videos over xx days old" to select an interval.

Note: If you store photos or videos on your SD card, this does not delete them.

Android 8 offers increased security measures

  • Play Store protection: Google Play Protect scans your apps to keep them secure and free of malware and viruses.
  • Installing apps from sources other than Play Store: The Unknown sources setting has been removed from Security settings. Now each time you choose to install an app from an unknown source, you are required to grant the “Install unknown apps” permission. You can easily see which apps you granted this permission and can revoke it at any time.

Moto Z2 Force Android 8.0 Oreo OTA captured and available for download

Moto Z2 Force Android 8.0 Oreo OTA captured and available for download
A few days ago, we reported that Motorola has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update with December Security patch for the Moto Z2 Force. Well, if you can't wait for the official OTA, then this recent development might be of interest to you.

XDA user "joemossjr" has managed to capture the OTA of T-Mobile Moto Z2 Force Android 8.0 Oreo update, meaning that owners of the Moto Z2 Force can install the update right now if they wish to (link to XDA post at the bottom of the page). But before you do, there are a few things to consider-

Joemossjr has stated that this update can only be flashed on Moto Z2 Force T-Mobile with build NCX26.122-59-8 (Download link). Note that this OTA file is for the Moto Z2 Force on T-Mobile, so do not attempt to flash it on other devices.

There's only 1 Soak Test OTA file available for the Moto Z2 Force. The developer states that you need to Install it in order to get the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with December Security patch, new icons, and features.

We recommend you to wait for the official OTA, as Motorola is rolling the update in phases.

Here's What's New in Android 8.0 Oreo for Motorola Phones

Here's What's New in Android 8.0 Oreo for Motorola Phones
We all know that Motorola is one of the fastest when it comes to updating it's Smartphones to the latest Android OS. Additionally Motorola's stock-like interface has never taken too long to update.

Just a few days back, we wrote about the official rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo on Moto Z2 Force and Moto X4 (Both Android One and Regular Variants) phones throughout the U.S., India, and Brazil. While this update might seem like a really modest improvement over the Android 7.0 Nougat, there is actually way more than meets the eye. Motorola Brazil has put together a guide to what's new in Android 8.0 Oreo for Motorola Devices.

Easy to Configure

Android 8.0 Oreo is attractive, user-friendly, and faster than Android Nougat. The new Settings Application has linked related items which makes it easier to access other Settings.

Log in with Autofill

The autofill feature stores and secures user data, such as addresses, user names, and even passwords. So the next time you access your account, the system automatically enters your username and password, making browsing more smooth.

See notifications in apps

Motorola has included Pixel Exclusive Notification Dots. Whenever there is a notification from an application, a small dot will be displayed on its icon. With a long touch on the app, you'll be able to see all the details of the notification in the foreground and perform the actions.

Picture in Picture (PIP)

PIP display allows users to continue watching a video while they're answering a chat or hailing a car.

New Emojis

Android 8.0 Oreo comes with over 60+ Redesigned Emojis.

Moto Z2 Force Offers A/B (Seamless) System Updates

Moto Z2 Force Offers A/B (Seamless) System Updates
Along with the Android 7.0 Nougat, Google also introduced a new update system that allows users with no "Updating Android" screens delaying the initial boot.

According to the new reports from XDA, Motorola is the first OEM to actually implement A/B partition system for Seamless System Updates.

Recently, the Moto Z2 Force got a new update and XDA Team discovered that it was having a familiar screen from his Pixel usage that mentioned the update was installing in the background. Additionally, the device booted right into an updated Android without any delay screen saying "Updating Android".

That said, this system has been highly beneficial and more OEMs should actually implement this feature to their upcoming Smartphones.

Moto Z2 Force goes official with Shatterproof Display, Dual Cameras, and Snapdragon 835

Motorola has finally announced its 2017 flagship smartphone, the Moto Z2 Force is the newest addition to the modular Moto Z Family.

The device features a 5.5" Quad HD 1440p Super AMOLED display, which the company guarantees Shatterproof. It's wrapped in a sleek 7000 series aluminum unibody, which looks premium.

Other specifications includes, the latest Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Dual-rear camera each of 12MP, 5MP front-facing camera, and 2,730mAh battery.

Along with the Moto Z2 Force, the company has also revealed few new Moto Mods including Moto 360 Camera and Gamepad Mod. That said, the Moto Z2 Force is priced at $750 (48290 INR) and will be available in all four carriers in the US. Thoughts?

Verizon accidentally lists Moto Z2 Force, Specs revealed

Verizon accidentally lists Moto Z2 Force, Specs revealed
[Update: The device is now official] Hours before the official launch of the Moto Z2 Force, Verizon has accidentally revealed the Moto Z2 Force confirming the official specs and design of the shatterproof beast. However, the listing has now been taken down.

The listing suggests that the Moto Z2 Force features a 5.5-inch QHD Shatterproof display, Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. There's going to be dual-rear camera, each of 12MP, 5MP front-facing camera, and 2,730mAh battery.

The Z2 Force is probably Motorola's first Smartphone with Dual-cameras. You might have noticed that the battery is now smaller as compared to previous generation Moto Z(s).

That said, the event has already begun and we will be posting the news as soon as the device gets official.

Here's the first live photo of the Dual-Camera Moto Z2 Force

It's no longer a secret that Motorola will be announcing its first Dual-Camera Smartphone, the Moto Z2 Force on 25th July during an event.

We have already seen the official and leaked renders of the Shatterproof Moto Z2 Force, but today thanks baidu forum, we have our first real look at the Moto Z2 Force.

As you can see in the below Images, the Moto Z2 Force design looks similar to the Moto Z2 Play, which was launched last month. Additionally, Motorola is finally entering into the Dual-Camera world and according to me the robo-faced dual-camera looks much better and unique. We have seen a lot of companies going with iPhone-ish Dual-camera design, it do looks great but at the same time it loses its uniqueness.
As per earlier leaks, the Moto Z2 will feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU, 5.5" QHD (2560 x 1440) display. Under the hood you will find 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage. A 12MP + 12MP Dual camera setup on the rear, 5MP to the front and Android 7.1.1 will come pre-installed.
On the other hand, the Moto Z2 Force will feature 5.5-inch display, with an unknown resolution. The Z2 Force will be having a shatterproof display along with the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC.

Motorola's latest #hellomotoworld invite confirms shatterproof Moto Z2 Force announcement

Motorola has sent out media invites for the event to be held on July 25th at 11:00 a.m. ET (8:30 PM IST) in New York City, but it did not states which smartphone they are going to launch. Motorola has a knack of teasing smartphones ahead of their official launch, and they are doing the same this time as well.

The Invite states "get ready to shatter your expectations", and perhaps this is a reference to the upcoming Shatterproof Moto Z2 Force.

Motorola is due to launch five smartphones including the Moto G5s series, Moto X (2017), the Moto Z2 and Moto Z2 Force. That said, the upcoming smartphone may be one from the Moto Z2 lineup.

Maybe Motorola is looking to announce the Moto Gs series, or it maybe the Moto X (2017). That said, nothing is known for now from the company, and just a few days to go for the Official announcement of these devices.
