iPhone X scores 97 in DxOMark camera ranking

iPhone X scores 97 in DxOMark camera ranking
DxOMark has given the Apple iPhone X overall camera score of 97, which is way up there in the list of smartphones but a point less than the powerful Google Pixel 2 with 98 DxOMark score.

The iPhone X features dual 12MP sensors, including the wide-angle f/1.8 lens with optical image stabilization (OIS) for the main camera and telephoto lens that features a wider-aperture f/2.4 lens with OIS for secondary camera.

In the breakdown, DxOMark said that the iPhone X is one of the best smartphone they have tested. It is better than iPhone 8 Plus and Note 8.

With a Photo score of 101, the Apple iPhone X achieves the best results so far for still images, edging out the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the previous joint leaders in the Photo ranking, by one point. Compared to its cousin iPhone 8 Plus, the X improves noticeably on Zoom performance, but also does better in terms of Exposure, Color, Texture, Noise and Artifacts. Other key strengths in still image mode include very good exposures and HDR images, accurate color rendering, good detail with low noise, as well as a natural-looking bokeh effect in Portrait mode.

For video, the X doesn’t quite rise to the same high-water mark, achieving a video sub-score of 89 points. With its key strengths good exposure with fast convergence during lighting changes, accurate color rendering as well as fast and accurate autofocus and effective video stabilization, the X’s scores are almost identical to the iPhone 8 Plus’s. Its overall score of 97 puts the iPhone X into joint second place with the Huawei Mate 10 in the current DxOMark Mobile overall rankings, just behind the Google Pixel 2 with 98 points.

OnePlus is sticking with Headphone Jack in the new OnePlus 5T + First Official Render

OnePlus is sticking with Headphone Jack in the new OnePlus 5T + First Official Render
OnePlus just confirmed that the OnePlus 5T is real and coming pretty soon with the headphone jack. On OnePlus forum, Pete Lau Ceo of OnePlus today announced that the OnePlus 5T would feature headphone jack because 80% of OnePlus users uses in-jack headphones and are probably not ready for wireless or USB-C to headphone jack feature.

OnePlus Statement on "The OnePlus 5T - Let's talk about the headphone jack"
In the past, we’ve made some jokes on this subject, but today I wanted to dig deeper into our decision to keep the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Whether it’s in the area of hardware or software, our focus is on producing superior product experiences. Every feature, removed or added, is based on our understanding of user needs. For the time being, we think it’s best to stick with the headphone jack. Here's why.

First, audio quality. When we surveyed the OnePlus community, 70% of users told us that their priority was sound quality. On the whole, wireless earbuds aren't there yet to provide the same quality of audio. Are the best wireless headphones comparable to the best of the wired? That's possible. But as you get closer to the under $200 category, the options are more limited. Keeping the headphone jack allows our users to continue to take full advantage of the excellent range of audio choices on the market. Not to mention our own Bullet V2 earphones.

Second, user freedom. Nearly 80% of our users use in-jack headphones. At one point, we thought about using another USB-C port to replace the 3.5 mm audio port. The advantage to USB-C is that it would have let us further slim down our flagships. However, the question we asked ourselves was whether replacing the 3.5 mm jack with a USB-C port would bring a noticeably improved experience for our users. In other words, is it worth the trade off? And our assessment was no, this design decision was not worth taking away our users' freedom to use their favorite earphones and accessories.

Don't get me wrong. Wireless audio technology has a lot of potential. And if you prefer wireless headphones, our flagships have excellent Bluetooth capability for this choice. But our goal from the beginning has been to bring better technology to the world. That's why we prioritize the user and make good technology accessible. Sometimes, industry trends go against our core beliefs. This is one of those times when we respectfully disagree on what it means to be courageous. That's why we're proud to announce that we're keeping the headphone jack for the OnePlus 5T – and confident that our product decisions for our upcoming device will offer the best flagship experience possible.

Never Settle.
