Ditch Your Old Playlists: Here’s 4 Other Things to Listen to On Your Commute

Ditch Your Old Playlists: Here’s 4 Other Things to Listen to On Your Commute
Popping in a tape, CD, or plugging your headphones into a music player for the ride has lost its appeal for a lot of commuters.

Many of those who commute to work - particularly to and from hectic, urban areas - can spend hours on the road or on the subway each day, and more and more, we find that listening to the same old music with the same old beat just isn’t cutting it.

Many people find themselves bored in what can feel like an endless routine of going here and there, and are aching to be more productive on their daily routes.

Shaking up the routine energizes the mind and can even help boost your mood at the beginning or end of the workday. Listening to your most-played playlist isn’t your only option.

Check out the list of ideas we have compiled to make your commute a more enjoyable, and perhaps even educational, experience.

1. Audiobooks with Audible

Audible is a monthly audiobooks subscription service that has made a substantial splash as a digital database that features over 425,000 audiobooks and other audio content. Users can dive into the latest new releases by big and lesser-known authors, scour the database for older favorites and classics, and check out audio shows and other original content available to stream through the exclusive service.

Audible offers users a free one-month trial, at the end of which users can choose to either continue the service, or spontaneously decide that they actually hate learning and reading.

After the no-cost trial, the standard monthly subscription fee for Audible users starts at $14.95. This Audible guide by Self Development Secrets lays out the basics of the service pretty well.

If you are a voracious reader that has previously bemoaned the lost time you’ve spent commuting that you could have spent with a book in hand, bemoan no more. Feed your intellectual curiosity with Audible.

2. Podcasts That Make You Think

Like audiobooks, podcasts are another latest craze to hit the cultural scene. Podcasts fall within a broad range of categories, including those that - like books - can teach you a thing or two about either things you are already interested in or had maybe never given much thought to.

And what better way to wake your brain up than tune into a podcast that makes you really think?

There are podcasts that share industry-specific work skills voiced by others in the fields, business management tips, life skills, as well as stories and deep dives into events and concepts that have impacted our world in both the past and present.

Here are some considerations that have become top-rated by podcast listeners:

● Invisibilia

● This American Life

● TED Talks

● Stuff You Didn’t Learn in History Class

● Still Processing

3. Podcasts for the TV Drama Enthusiasts

Maybe you’re just not in the mood to learn. After a long day at work, sometimes you just want to be entertained.

Good news: there are podcasts for that, too! Fictionalized dramas have also garnered their fair share of listens and downloads, serving as something like your favorite hit TV dramas in audio form.

Ready to sit on the edge of your seat? Check out:

● S-Town

● Welcome to Night Vale

● Serial

● Lore

● Atlanta Monster

● Alice Isn’t Dead

4. Themed Playlists on Spotify

Tired of listening to the same old music? Switch it up by starting or ending your day with a customized Spotify playlist.

With Spotify, you can either create playlists of songs yourself or listen to playlists created by others. Pick a mood, a genre, or a general vibe that you want to get from your musical playlist, and make it happen. Or, search the service’s database to see if someone else has already done the work for you.

Spotify is available for free on your mobile or tablet, or you can pay for their premium plan each month to avoid ads and listen offline.

4 Ways to Make Your Website More Interactive

Without a doubt, the world that we live in is becoming more tech-savvy day after day. For this reason, you want to make your online business stand out from the competitors. To stay on top of your game, we’ve compiled this list of 4 things you can do to make your site more appealing, interesting, and engaging to your target audience.

Creating an interactive webpage gives you several ways to deliver the content of your site. It gives viewers a personalized experience that goes beyond the usual browsing and viewing. As business owners, you will also be able to use this as a marketing tool which we will explain down below.

Users are more likely to come back, recommend, or make a purchase on your site if they find it engaging. Here are 4 ways you can increase the traffic to your site and increase user engagement.

Social Media

Almost everyone you know – including yourself – has some form of social media presence. Whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, you can’t deny the fact that in the past decade or so, there has been a huge explosion of social media platforms.

While Instagram or Facebook is a great way to connect with friends and family, they are also ways to know what’s going on around the world. These platforms keep users up to date and have become a great way for businesses to share their brand.

Incorporating links to your social media accounts on your websites is a great way to engage your audience because they can learn more about your company on a platform they use on a regular basis. They have the option of liking, following your account, or sharing content which is all beneficial to you and your brand.

Quizzes, Surveys, and Polls

These are all fun ways to engage your viewers while receiving positive feedback. You, of course, want these surveys or quizzes to be relevant to your brand. For example, if you are a home renovation company, perhaps post a quiz named, “Is It Time for A Home Makeover?”

As for surveys and polls, ask simple questions to get an idea of what your customers are looking for. It’s also a great way to see what’s trending and get insight into the wants of your viewers. All this information is beneficial to you and engaging to your audience!

User-Generated Content

Customers love it when they can see their content posted within a website. This is a great way to make them happy, your site more interactive, and bring overall positive results. This is a great strategy to improve user engagement and give users a chance to speak their minds.

You can incorporate user-generated content through comment features on articles, forums, and discussion boards. These are all great ways to generate content and engage your viewers. Not only this, but you can also get to know what your customers want and use this to your advantage.

Feedback, Ratings, Reviews

Before buying a product or service, many consumers like to read reviews and ratings from previous clients. This helps convince them that they are making an informed purchase and make them more likely to buy your product.

Have a section on your site where customers can leave their feedback. This is also a great way for you to improve your work, see where issues lie and learn about what your target audience likes/dislikes.

Conclusion

These are all great ways to create a more engaging site and stay ahead of the competition. If you are not tech savvy or have no idea where to start with implementing these ideas, considerhiring a marketing, web design and SEO team to increase traffic to your site and build a strong, interactive website.

BCC Interactive Philadelphia SEO Agency is a great resource to have when looking to drive more traffic and leads to your site. Consequently, you will begin to see an increased revenue as your business grows to its fullest potential. Best of luck!

What Are Social Signals and How Do They Improve SEO?

Search engine optimization is extremely important if you want to see your website rank on the first page of results in Google, Yahoo, or Bing. Using target keywords and rich content within your site is one way to draw more traffic and generate more leads.

Yes, optimizing your site means more views and increased traffic to your products and services – however, if we step aside from traditional SEO strategies and techniques, you’ll find that social media has become a large way for businesses to expand their brand.

Millions of people use social media platforms every single day, which is why you need to start using if you haven’t started already. Social signals help SEO and can take your brand to new levels. Here is what you need to know!

What Are Social Signals?

It’s clear that social media has become an important way for companies to reach out to their customers and targeted audience. Putting your brand on networking sites is a great way to establish an online presence separate from traditional SEO.

Social signalstrack and record customer feedback and are used to analyze reach and engagement. Common ones include:
  • Likes
  • Dislikes
  • Shares
  • Votes
  • Views
  • Pins
Any of these human interaction metrics help measure the popularity and impact of a piece of content. They are used on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and indicate that your brands are being talked about and viewed by consumers.

It’s important to use these metrics effectively as they are viewed as trusted recommendations by search engines which could really improve your SERP ranking. When using them correctly, they can bring several benefits like reducing bounce rates and attracting more views to your website. Customers can share your posts, videos, or pictures opening doors to a whole new audience.

How Social Signals Can Improve Your Brand

There are many reasons you should get serious about social signals and take advantage of the benefits that they bring. They work as a major driving factor for SEO, resulting in a stronger online presence, brand awareness, and increased traffic.

When working with social media, there are two main elements you need to consider: onsite and offsite factors.

Onsite elements are social signals on your own website, including share buttons and blog posts.Offsite elements might include a Twitter account, a Facebook page, or a LinkedIn company page.

At the end of the day, you want to make sure you are engaging with your customers through engaging, interactive content. Incorporate polls, videos, images, or contests to bring back positive feedback.

How to Perform a Social SEO Audit

A typical SEO audit is an analysis of your website – it tells you if there are any broken links that need to be fixed, what pages people are visiting most, how often they’re visiting, and much more. So how do you do an SEO analysis of your offsite social presence?

Luckily, most social media sites offer free analytics tools – Twitters is especially robust. But instead of taking a hunt-and-peck approach to social auditing, it’s easier to use an SEO checker that puts all of your social signals in one place. This way, you can see how your site pages are performing across the web.

An SEO analyzer can also give you ideas for social content by showing you what your most popular articles are.

Conclusion
Tracking social signals is a great way to see how consumers are engaging with your brand. Using an SEO checker andother website analysis tools to see what’s working and what’s not. These tools can also help you keep track of consumer sentiment, or how people generally feel about your brand.

Social signals are just one of the many factors search engines like Google use to determine the ranking of your site. Likes, shares, or views are important, but don’t get so caught up in the social scene that you lose sight of other fundamental SEO practices like maintaining fast site speeds, keyword-rich content, and providing a good user experience on your website.

5 Simple Ways to Improve Your Site Speed

5 Simple Ways to Improve Your Site Speed
If your website is running slow, it’s costing you money. A slow site means impatient visitors – and that means visitors leaving your site before things load and missing out on another potential sale.

A slow site can even cripple you before visitors click on your page. That’s right, site speed is one of the many factors Google’s algorithm uses to rank sites on its search engine results page.

The average webpage homepage loads in 3.39 seconds. While this is average, there are pages on very opposite ends of the loading time spectrum. In fact, the fastest-loading site is able to fully load 58 times while the slowest loading page loads once. This difference is jarring, showing that there are a lot of ways to either slow your site down or speed it on up.

Obviously, you’re not trying to slow your site down, so we’re uncovering 5 simple ways to improve your site speed, so you can get ranked higher on Google’s results pages and make quicker, better impressions on site visitors.

Here are the easiest ways to get things loading quicker on your site:

1. Keep the design simple.

A simple website design makes loading simpler and thereby faster. This happens because in reducing the complexity of your design, you reduce the number for HTTP requests required when loading each page. These requests must be made for each element of design on the page to be loaded, so there’s no other way around them. Once you reduce the number of elements that must be loaded, however, the loading time gets much quicker.

A simple design interface also makes the experience more enjoyable for visitors, thus making your chances at converting visitors into customers that much higher.

2. Make the images optimized.

Images are absolutely critical in the landscape of websites. Photos give a visual to the company, helping customers connect with the business. Humans are also visual learners, absorbing information much better and quicker through images than through words.

Because of this, images must be carefully placed and utilized in web pages. When used without careful thought or design, however, they can slow down the loading of pages. This could cause the visitor to possibly miss the images all together if they get frustrated and jump ship.

High-quality images that are uploaded at the scales at which they will be displayed on the site will help them load faster. That way, you don’t have to worry about unnecessary pixels that won’t even enhance the quality.

3. Allow for caching.

Caching is when a computer stores data for future use, making things quicker and easier in days to come. This saves time and saves the network some energy next time you re-visit a site you’ve already been to.

By enabling caching on your website, you’ll make it easier for returning visitors to load your page. If they’re returning, there’s a much higher chance they will convert, so acting quick on this second visit is crucial.

4. Eliminate unnecessary plugins.

When you get to the world of plugins in the web design space, it can be easy to get ahead of yourself and go plugin-happy. While plugins can serve important and unique roles on websites, they also require resources in order to run that may slow the speed of the site down a bit.

By disabling each plugin one at a time and measuring server performance, you can determine which of plugins you’re using is causing a drag. Sometimes 10 plugins will take more resources than 50 – it just depends on the individual plugins used. That’s why testing each one to find the energy-suckers is important.

5. A better-managed website is a faster website.

A good website manager will know these tips and more to help optimize your website for performing at its highest possible speed. Hiring the right person or taking these responsibilities on for yourself will ensure there’s someone constantly monitoring site function and speed.

If site management isn’t your forte, you can find WordPress management services to handle that kind of thing. Whether they are outsourced or internal, having someone dedicated to your digital presence will improve online results.

How to Effectively Monitor Competitors to Improve Your Own Performance

How to Effectively Monitor Competitors to Improve Your Own Performance
Every space that dedicates itself to one’s livelihood—the workplace, educational institutes, etc.—ultimately operates on the apex of interpersonal comparisons. How well one person is doing is heavily related to how well their peers or coworkers are doing, and it is important to be aware of that when functioning within these spaces.

There are ways to track the progress of others and relate it to yourself, and while this should be done only occasionally and deliberately to minimize on excess stress, it is a vital approach if you want to excel in your education, career, or business.

Social Media Strength

The age of digital media has resulted in individual expressionism never seen before through the use of social media. Social media allows for people all over the world to connect and communicate with one another by posting comments, sharing articles, uploading videos, and much more.

However, this has resulted in an interesting phenomenon wherein one’s social media presence is (seemingly) highly indicative of who one is as a person. Certain jobs have started asking for the social media information of applicants to better discern their virtual influence and thus workability, and many publishing and writing-based industries have even started prioritizing clients by gauging their social media following. It’s a way to assess how effectively the person will be able to promote their work.

With the use of sites like https://www.chatmeter.com/platform/, your social media presence can be analyzed and critiqued for optimal success, so that you can revisit and strength your virtual image. You can also monitor the social media presence of your competitors to see what they’re doing that seems to work and where you can improve on their strategies.

Be Aware of Your Workspace

A great way to gauge your competitors’ success is simply through mere observation. A lot happens in the workspace—or schooling space if you are still a student—and staying vigilant is a sure-fire way to stay on top of it. Take note of how people interact with each other, how information gets around and how friendships develop, and make sure you involve yourself accordingly in order to both blend in and dominate the scene.

For instance, if a group of your coworkers go out to lunch with your boss every Friday, insert yourself into the narrative by going along with them. Make sure this is not an orchestrated event that excludes you for a specific reason before you make this move, but seldom will that be the case—still, it is vital to protect yourself from presumption and miscommunication.

Also, always be aware of what your boss may want or need and try to offer assistance as soon as you can in any way you can. This will exhibit your dedication and ability to take the initiative.

Be Kind and True to Yourself

Ironic as it may sound, simply being yourself, as well as a good person, are some of the best things you can do to ͞get ahead͟ of the competition. Making genuine connections and sincerelywanting to do well at your occupation or studies will always benefit you in the long run, and sometimes it is more about being the dependable friend who can be counted on than cutting everybody else down behind the scenes.

No matter how cutthroat some people may be in trying to get ahead, often the best thing you can do is be the person in the room that everyone else likes to be around and can rely upon. Being a true person to yourself and those around you will always be a trait that serves you, no matter what environment you may find yourself in.

Final Considerations

Competition is inevitable in environments with a number of people all with similar goals and objectives. The best thing you can do for yourself in these circumstances is look out for yourself by being aware of your coworkers, peers, bosses, and audiences who are as important to your competitors as they are to you.

Innovative Advances with Schematic Drawing Software

It wasn’t that long ago that to do a schematic drawing you were required to get a drawing board, ruler and pencil - how times have changed! Now you are able to get the latest technological software loaded onto your computer and draw almost whatever you want. Whether you want to use the software for simple drawings for yourself (this could be for home planning) or for a business, there is advanced software on the market that is suitable for all types of people.

What Is New With This Type Of Software?

As you can imagine, this type of software gets updated regularly to new versions where there are more advanced tools and extras to make the drawings far easier to do. The schematic drawing software that you use can be one that costs very little but still manages to do the tasks that you are looking for.

Some of the recent changes that you should look out for that you would want in your software is:
  • Library – As the space of these software types is pretty significant then sometimes the space used to save the drawings can be used up pretty quickly indeed. It is in your best interest to ensure that you purchase a software that has a large enough space to suit your needs in the library. This is specifically important if you are a business and need to retain the drawings for any purpose.
  • All in One Package – The last thing that you want to be doing is buying a software package to then find out that you need to buy other add-on extras to enable you to complete the tasks. Unfortunately, this is quite a common problem, however, one that can be overcome by ensuring that you buy a modern software package that you can use from scratch. This may also include integration with other similar schematic drawing packages, therefore, be sure to check out its compatibility on this also.
  • Simulation – When you have drawn something in CAD the latest and greatest software releases have innovative simulation modes where you can run and see how effective your finished piece of work is. If for whatever reason there is a flaw in your design it is likely that this would be picked up during the simulation and therefore be an awesome way to prevent manufacturing something that is not fit for purpose. Clearly, this also helps with things such as reliability, durability and safety.
  • Views -Most modern software packages allow you to view the schematic drawing in different angles. Some even have the option of you switching between 2D and 3D. Most designers when doing a schematic drawing prefer to complete in 2D however then moving to 3D to see the finished assembly can assist greatly.
With these software systems changing at a very quick pace you will find that there are constantly upgrades available. These updates sometimes include more advanced tools or even just bug fixes and can be downloaded from the internet.

Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus Launch in 2019, No G7 Play!

Earlier this month, we saw the hands on images of the Motorola Moto G7 intends to feature a Waterdrop Display. Now, a new report from MySmartPrice, states that Motorola will unveil the new Moto G Smartphones in 2019.

According to them, the Moto G7 series will include the Moto G7 (Standard) and the Moto G7 Plus. There won't be any Moto G7 Play. This year's Moto G6 Play and Moto E5 Plus were nearly identical, maybe that's why Motorola plans to skip the G7 Play in favor of the E6 Plus.

As seen in the earlier leaks, the Moto G7 will have almost zero sized bezels on either sides. Also, the phone would feature a Waterdrop Notch which can be found in Oppo F9 Pro. Coming to the rear, it would have the dual lens camera setup, fingerprint sensor with Motorola batwing logo. Stay tuned to our FacebookTwitter, and Telegram to get the first News.
