Verizon’s Moto X 1st Gen is Getting Android 5.1 Lollipop

After a long time Verizon’s Moto X 1st Generation is finally getting Android 5.1 Lollipop update . Verizon’s Moto X 1st Gen is directly jumping from 4.4.4 KitKat to 5.1 Lollipop .




The soak test was started few weeks ago and Motorola is finally rolling out the update to Verizon’s Moto X 1st Generation 
Customers .

Now Motorola is finally rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop update for AT&T's Moto X 1st generation ( Moto X 2013 ) .

The software version is 222.26.1 and apart from it Moto X users will get few pre-installed apps update like - Motorola Assist and Migrate, NFC, and enhancements to Active notifications, SmartBoost, MotoCare .



You can update your Moto X by following the below procedure 

Step 1. Your Phone should be on Unlocked Bootloader and Stock Official 5.0.2 firmware to receive the update .



Step 2. Reboot your AT&T's Moto X 1st generation .

Step 3. Go to Settings > About device and Software update .

Step 4. Now follow the steps and Install Android 5.1 OTA update .

Motorola has finally begun rolling Android 5.1 Lollipop updated for Motorola Moto X 1st generation .  Android 5.1 comes with many bug fixes and many new changes .



Moto X users can get OTA update at any time . For now only Brazil users can update their Moto X to Android 5.1 but soon it will be available for many regions .

How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 )

Like other Motorola Smartphones you can Unlock Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 ) Bootloader also . Unlocking Bootloader voids warrenty , but still people Unlock Bootloader for Development Purposes .

Note -

We are not responsible for any damage caused to your Smartphone . 

Keep a backup of your data before following the steps , as Unlocking will wipe all your data .

By following this below guide , you can easily unlock your bootloader of Moto X 1st Generation ( 2013 ) .

How to Unlock Bootloader of Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 ) -

Step 1. Download Minimal ADB and fastboot from below .

Step 2. Download and Install Latest Motorola Drivers from below .

Step 3. Go to Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 ) Settings > Developer Settings and Select Allow OEM Unlock .

Step 4. Switch off your Motorola Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 ) and Boot to Fastboot mode by pressing Power + Volume down button at the same time .

Step 5. Now Open Minimal ADB and fastboot ( which you downloaded in step 2 ) on PC and open cmd from there .

Step 6. Connect your Motorola Moto X 1st Gen ( 2013 ) to PC via USB cable .

Step 7. Type This on Cmd   fastboot oem get_unlock_data  .

You will get a String , just copy it and Paste it in a Notepad and remove empty spaces from it .

Step 8. Go to Motorola's website and Log in using your Google / Motorola Id and paste the Copied String on 6th Step .

Step 9. Now complete all the Steps at Motorola's Website and Request unlock key . 

Step 10. You will get an Unlock key at your mail id , just copy it .

Step 11. In Cmd ( which you opened following step 5 ) type -

fastboot devices 

It will check , your device is connected or not , after that type -

fastboot oem unlock Key 

Replace Key with the Unlock Key , you got on Step 10 .
