Android P Beta on its way for Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7, and Nokia 8 Sirocco in China

Back at Google IO, Google released new Android P Build (Developer Preview 2) with exciting new features, and also announced a huge expansion of its Android Beta program. Google made the new firmware available for non-Google devices including Smartphones from brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, Nokia, Essential, Sony, Vivo, and Oppo Smartphones.

Nokia 7 Plus was one of the lucky Smartphone to receive Android P Beta across the globe, except China.

Now, Nokia’s Beta Labs in China, is allowing a limited number of Nokia 7 Plus who signed up for the beta program between June 21 and June 24 to get a taste of new Software (Android P Beta). Not only that, Nokia is also expanding this wave to other Nokia Smartphones including Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7, and Nokia 8 Sirocco in China.

There's no exact date on when HMD is going to roll Android 9.0 P Beta to these devices. Also it is unclear if HMD Global has any plans to bring the Android P beta to the international variants of the Nokia 6.1, and Nokia 8 Sirocco. We will let you know once the update is live. Nokia 8 won’t support Android Oreo’s quick updates feature

HMD has confirmed on its forums that Project Treble won't be part of any current devices, including the new Nokia 8.

Project Treble makes the OTAs modular allowing manufacturers to update their devices faster and longer.

Google has already updated their 2016 Pixel Smartphones with Treble, but HMD contradicts saying that Google only supports Project Treble on phones launching with Android 8.0 Oreo.

"Nokia 8 was launched with Android 7.0 Nougat™ however we recently upgraded this device to Android 8.0 Oreo™. Unfortunately Google only supports Project Treble on phones launching on Android 8.0 Oreo™, not phones upgrading to their software.

HMD is fully committed to implementing Project Treble on all new Android Oreo products in the near future and we apologise for any disappointment this may cause."

Nokia 8 isn't coming to the US and China

According to the latest reports from CNBC, the Nokia 8 isn't coming to the US and China.

HMD did not released the specific market list in which it would be releasing the Nokia 8, but told CNBC that it would launch in countries which are accustomed to higher average selling prices of phones.

"The U.S. requires a separate strategy, even a separate portfolio and tech investment so we are not in a rush today around that because we are seeing such strong demand across the globe,"

The Nokia 8 will not launch in China, as the company is crafting a specific strategy around the world's biggest smartphone market, and will launch specific devices tailored to consumers there.

"China is a big focus market and we will make announcements on those dedicated products there in the future," Seiche told CNBC.

Nokia 8 spotted running Android O

HMD is now all set to announce its Nokia branded Flagship Smartphone Nokia 8 on August 16. The device has now been spotted running Android 8.0 O at Geekbench.

Here is the Nokia 8, Again!!!

As we inch closer to the August 16 and the unveiling of the Nokia 8, the leaks are flowing steadily. Today we have another set of Images showing off the upcoming Nokia 8 (Copper-Gold variant) from different angles.

As you can see in the below image, the Nokia 8 is wrapped up in a transparent plastic package. Again, the back of the device is having dual-cameras with Zeiss optics. Talking about the front it seems that HMD is sticking with physical keys and larger display bezels for the Nokia 8.
Here is the Nokia 8, Again!!!

If you ask me, the device do looks great from the back, but the front is really disappointing. Don't know why only Samsung and LG, so far, seems to have gone all in on killing off bezels. With these huge bezels, we don't think that the Nokia 8 will be able to even touch the standards of Galaxy S8, LG G6, and the upcoming Pixel 2.

According to previous leaks, the phone will be priced tad higher. The phone may cost 589 euros (675 USD/ 43500 INR), which would be a steep price considering the trademark of Nokia.

The Nokia 8 is said to come with a 5.7-inch 2K, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage. It will be available in blue, steel (silver), Gold / blue, and gold / copper color options.

Nokia 8 Will Be Revealed on August 16

Nokia and HMD are now all set to reveal this year's flagship Smartphone Nokia 8. We have already seen the potential renders, and real life Images of the device. According to the latest invites, HMD will be announcing the "Next Big Thing" on August 16 during an event in London at 2:30PM ET / 11:30AM PT.

However, except the date, HMD has not revealed which product they will be announcing. But we all know that it's gonna be the Nokia 8 with Zeiss Optics. Here's what HMD Global invite says

"HMD Global invites you to an exclusive gathering to unveil the next milestone for Nokia phones."

Furthermore, some rumours say that the phone will be priced tad higher.

More leaked images of the Nokia 8 in Copper Gold

With fresh Nokia 8 leaks now popping up each and every day, Android fans are getting more eager than ever to see Nokia unveil its hot new flagship smartphone.

Nokia is expected to launch the Nokia 8 with Carl Zeiss Optics on 31st July. It's not like that we haven't seen the Nokia 8 in the earlier leaked renders and live Images, but today's leak shows us that the Nokia 8 Chinese variant will be coming with a hybrid Card slot.

Below are few more images of the Dual-Camera Nokia 8. The front image text shows that the device is unlocked and can't be trusted, also there's the usual Powered By Android boot logo.

One thing worth noticing is that the camera frame is not having "ZEISS" text, which we saw in earlier leaked renders. It could be possible that the below devices are early production units for testing.
With either 5.7-inch or 5.3-inch 2K Display, Snapdragon 835 and 4GB RAM, the Nokia 8 will stay premium with a price of 589 euros (675 USD/ 43500 INR). It will be coming with blue, steel (silver), Gold / blue, and gold / copper color options. We will let you know once we new information regarding the Nokia 8, Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter page to get the first News.
