Replacement screens can be used to hack your phone

Replacement screens can be used to hack your phone
In the newly published paper, researchers from Israel's Ben-Gurion University of the Negev revealed how a common fix to your smartphone can be used to hack your data.

By embedding a malicious chip which cost less than $10 within a third-party touchscreen, the research team was able to manipulate the data transfer from the device's hardware to the software drivers within the OS.

This hack enables the hacker to record keyboard inputs, take pictures of the user, install malicious applications, and redirect users to phishing websites.

The below video shows how this hack works on the Huawei Nexus 6P. With this method both the Android and iOS device can be hacked easily. It would be advisable to stick to the Official parts and service shops.

[Update: Xiaomi reveals Cause] Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Reportedly Explodes In Man's Pocket

After days of investigation, Xiaomi has finally revealed what caused its Redmi Note 4 to catch fire

Upon first impressions of the damaged device, we can conclude that extreme external force was applied to the device, which led to the back cover and battery being bent and screen getting damaged. A detailed investigation has been launched to understand the exact cause of the damage,” Xiaomi said in a statement.

“We would like to request our customers to avoid opening the device, puncturing the battery or applying extreme physical force to the device. After the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung took a huge step with its batteries that might prevent fires and explosions. It's time for all manufacturers to follow Samsung and implement battery protection to their upcoming Smartphones.

Recently a Redmi Note 4 user reported that his device exploded while in Pocket, giving him a second degree burn on his thigh. According to the reports, the Smartphone caught fire while the user "Bhavana Suryakiran" was driving his bike. However, Locals immediately came to rescue and poured water.

The reports also says that the user bought the Redmi Note 4 just 20 days back and he's gonna take this issue to the court.

Sakshi News TV has uploaded several images and a video showing severe burn marks on his thigh and the burning Redmi Note 4. You can check the Images and Video from the below (Source) link (CAUTION: Video might be disturbing).

We just blurred the featured Image of this Article. But, really, the best we can hope for in this kind of situation is that the injured person gets well soon and Xiaomi takes an immediate Action to solve this issue.

Xiaomi has reportedly sold 5 Million Redmi Note 4 from the past 6 months in India, and an exploding phone seems like a freak accident, but it could happen to any Smartphone because of overcharging, or using a third party charger, or any manufacturing fault. There's nothing to be worried about, Even we have a Redmi Note 4X and it's doing well.

Nokia 8 isn't coming to the US and China

According to the latest reports from CNBC, the Nokia 8 isn't coming to the US and China.

HMD did not released the specific market list in which it would be releasing the Nokia 8, but told CNBC that it would launch in countries which are accustomed to higher average selling prices of phones.

"The U.S. requires a separate strategy, even a separate portfolio and tech investment so we are not in a rush today around that because we are seeing such strong demand across the globe,"

The Nokia 8 will not launch in China, as the company is crafting a specific strategy around the world's biggest smartphone market, and will launch specific devices tailored to consumers there.

"China is a big focus market and we will make announcements on those dedicated products there in the future," Seiche told CNBC.

Motorola patents Smartphone with Self-healing Smart Display

We've seen Motorola doing wonders with the Shatterproof Display. Now, the company is potentially working on a Smartphone with self-repairing display, reveals a patent turned up by Patently Motorola.

Motorola's diagram showcase a Smartphone which uses thermal energy to cure and heal the shattered display.

Once Shattered, All you have to do is just open the Repair Application and select the damaged area on its external smart glass. Once selected, the FASCIA healing process will start repairing your Smartphone.
Wondering how it works? Well, the heat from the phone applied to the smart glass trigger the smart glass’s shape memory properties and the smart glass would reverse the damage.

However, Motorola says that this new technology won't repair every crack perfectly. The smart glass can reverse the damage to least some deformation. Thoughts?
